  • Histopathological Patterns in Bullous Dermatitis Artefacta: A Retrospective Case Series. [Journal Article]
Am J Dermatopathol. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]Gerlero P, Klein Ottoni Guedes NL, … Nico MMSAJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: Dermatologists are uniquely positioned to diagnose and manage DA. Nevertheless, when clinical diagnosis is inconclusive, recognition of these histopathological patterns may provide valuable diagnostic clues for dermatopathologists evaluating biopsies from patients with suspected DA.

  • Current Advancement in Polymer-Based Nanoemulgel Topical Therapies: A Dermatological Perspective. [Journal Article]
Pharm Nanotechnol. 2026 Sep 30. [Online ahead of print]Zafar M, Kumar P, … Verma NPN
  • Topical nanoemulgels represent a novel and promising hybrid drug delivery system that integrates the advantages of both nanoemulsions and gels to enhance skin drug delivery. Their unique physicochemical properties, such as high solubilizing capacity for lipophilic drugs, small droplet size, and rheological suitability, make them highly effective for localized dermatological applications. Recent a…
  • singIST: an R/bioconductor library and quarto dashboard for automated single-cell comparative transcriptomics analysis of disease models and humans. [Journal Article]
    Front Genet. 2026; 17:1952333.Moruno-Cuenca A, Picart-Armada S, … Fernández-Albert FFG
  • CONCLUSIONS: singIST provides a standardized and reproducible framework for comparative single-cell transcriptomic analysis between disease models and humans, with an emphasis on interpretability and practical usability. By combining quantitative recapitulation metrics with an interactive visualization interface, singIST supports informed model evaluation, hypothesis generation, and translational decision-making in preclinical research. The software is freely available via Bioconductor under an open-source license. The singIST visualizer is freely available in Shiny with 8 GB memory https://amoruno.shinyapps.io/singIST_visualizer/.
  • IL-13 and skin fibrosis in inflammatory skin diseases. [Review]
Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1974049.Ikegawa N, Nguyen TM, … Sawada YFI
  • Skin fibrosis is increasingly recognized as an important component of chronic inflammatory skin diseases, contributing to dermal thickening, tissue stiffness, and persistent functional impairment. Although transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) has long been considered the central mediator of fibrosis, accumulating evidence indicates that interleukin-13 (IL-13), a key cytokine of type 2 immunity, p…
  • Psoriasiform Plaques as a Cutaneous Clue to Persistent Inflammation in Infantile Kawasaki Disease. [Case Reports]
Pediatr Dermatol. 2026 Oct 08. [Online ahead of print]Al Wahaybi K, Al Saadi M, … Abdwani RPD
  • Kawasaki disease is typically associated with a polymorphous exanthem, but persistent psoriasiform or pustular plaques during the acute illness may be mistaken for infection, drug eruption, or a separate inflammatory dermatosis. We report a 4-month-old boy with Kawasaki disease who developed erythematous scaly plaques with pustules during the acute phase, in temporal association with recurrent mu…
