- Effect of Rivoceranib 200 mg Once Daily on the Pharmacokinetics of a Cocktail Probe Substrate of Cytochrome P450 Enzymes: A Phase I Trial in Healthy Volunteers. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Rivoceranib 200 mg QD may substantially inhibit the metabolism of CYP2D6 substrates. Therefore, concomitant use of CYP2D6 substrate drugs with rivoceranib should be approached with caution, and dose adjustment of substrates of CYP2D6 may be necessary when co-administration cannot be avoided. Rivoceranib 200 mg QD may also exert weak inhibitory effects on the metabolism of CYP3A, CYP2C9, and CYP2C19 substrates. In such cases, close monitoring for substrate-related adverse reactions is recommended, particularly when toxicity is sensitive to increased exposures of these substrate drugs.

- Aerogel Pore-Confined High-Loading MOF-199 for Micro-Solid-Phase Extraction of Methorphan Enantiomer in Biological Samples. [Journal Article]
- Dextromethorphan is a widely used clinical antitussive, while its enantiomer, levomethorphan, is a controlled substance. Chiral separation and trace detection of the two enantiomers in biological samples are critically important. Herein, a micro-solid-phase extraction method coupled with enantioselective ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS) was proposed for th…

- Pharmacokinetic Drug-Drug Interactions of Imlunestrant in Healthy Female Participants of Nonchildbearing Potential. [Clinical Trial, Phase I]
- Imlunestrant is a next-generation, oral, selective estrogen receptor degrader approved for treating adults with estrogen receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative, ESR1-mutated advanced/metastatic breast cancer. Imlunestrant is metabolized partly by cytochrome P450 (CYP)3A4 oxidation and conjugation with glucuronic acid and sulfate; thus, pharmacokinetic and drug-drug i…

- Analysis of eight OTC drug components in postmortem dried blood spot samples by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. [Case Reports]Leg Med (Tokyo). 2026 Sep; 85:102954.LM
- Recently, abuse and fatal overdoses of over-the-counter (OTC) medications have become serious social and health issues worldwide. However, many drug components in OTC medications that are abused have different chemical structures from those assessed by commercially available rapid drug test kits. In this research, we focused on using dried blood spot (DBS) samples to develop a simple and accurate…

- Dextromethorphan-associated neurotoxicity with cerebellar edema (DANCE) syndrome. [Journal Article]Clin Toxicol (Phila). 2026 Aug 06; :1-4. [Online ahead of print]CT
- CONCLUSIONS: Dextromethorphan-associated neurotoxicity with cerebellar edema syndrome is a new clinico-radiological condition that occurs following ingestion of dextromethorphan in young children. Similar to the recently published report and cases presented here, early identification and treatment may be associated with favorable neurological recovery. Therefore, this syndrome should be considered in the differential diagnosis at an early stage. There is a need to increase awareness among healthcare providers to avoid prescribing dextromethorphan-containing cough syrups to younger children.

- Establishment of a Novel Approach for Drug Abuse Monitoring and Its Application in Medical Institutions. [Journal Article]
- BACKGROUND Drug abuse is a global public health concern with substantial medical, psychological, and social consequences. Drug abuse monitoring (DAM) systems help identify patterns of substance misuse and support regulatory interventions. Current monitoring systems mainly rely on fixed-point reporting from addiction treatment centers, detention facilities, and compulsory detoxification institutio…

- While antidepressants may be the drug of choice for depression, they also have FDA approval as treatments for other medical disorders. For example, antidepressants are useful in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, social phobia, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Antidepressants also have non-FDA approved, off-label indicatio…
