- Biomechanical analysis in hip joints according to sagittal pelvic tilt in non-ambulatory flaccid neuromuscular scoliosis: a finite element study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Postoperative reduction in SA-PT increases acetabular cartilage stress and produces an unfavorable superomedial load shift that mirrors the clinically observed rise in hip migration and pain.

- Biomechanical Comparison of Three Fixation Constructs for Tile Type C1.2 Pelvic Ring Fractures: A Finite Element Analysis. [Journal Article]Life (Basel). 2026 Feb 15; 16(2).L
- Fractures of the pelvic ring are among the most severe injuries in orthopaedic practice and Tile type C lesions are characterized by complete disruption of the posterior arch with both vertical and rotational instability. The optimal construct for posterior ring fixation remains a matter of debate. The aim of this study was to compare, by means of finite element analysis, the biomechanical perfor…

- Efficacy of pelvic floor muscle training combined with promestriene in improving pelvic floor dysfunction in middle-aged and elderly women: a retrospective study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: PFMT combined with intravaginal Promestriene yields multidimensional therapeutic benefits for middle-aged and elderly women with pelvic floor dysfunction, encompassing improvements in muscle function, urinary control, vaginal tissue status, and quality of life. Intravaginal Promestriene enhances the responsiveness to pelvic floor muscle training by improving the local tissue microenvironment and hormonal status, representing a potentially valuable adjunctive intervention. This combined strategy is safe and feasible, offering a promising optimized approach for pelvic floor rehabilitation in this population.

- Scalable DICOM 3D-printed phantoms mimicking marine mammal bone and soft tissue. [Journal Article]
- As charismatic sentinel species, California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) are commonly found in professional care settings such as zoos, aquariums, and rehabilitation facilities, in addition to their free-ranging coastal populations. These animals frequently strand due to illness, trauma, or environmental stressors, including toxic algal blooms such as domoic acid poisoning, underscoring the…

- Rebuilding the pelvis: advances in robotic-assisted management of complex pelvic fractures. [Review]Comput Assist Surg (Abingdon). 2026 Dec; 31(1):2615212.CA
- Complex pelvic fractures are infamously challenging to fix surgically because of their fine anatomy and proximity to vital neurovascular structures. Traditional open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) improves stability but is complicated by excessive blood loss, longer operative time, and morbidity. Robotic-assisted surgical methods, i.e. Robot-Assisted Fracture Reduction (RAFR) and the TiRo…

- CONCLUSIONS: Gender reassignment is a complex process that affects all aspects of the person and requires greater humanization of health professionals. Physiotherapy has shown significant barriers in terms of accessibility and knowledge of the benefits that physiotherapy can bring to this population. It is important to include in the curricula of different health professions the implications of a sex reassignment process to offer adequate support to the needs of the population.

- Clinical Evaluation of Pelvic Floor Muscles Versus Instrumental Assessment with Myotonometry: A Diagnostic Validity Study. [Journal Article]
- Pelvic floor evaluation is essential for assessing its mechanical and elastic properties to guide treatment decisions. The lack of objective instrumental tools creates challenges in both clinical practice and research. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic validity of subjective palpation for classifying pelvic floor muscle tone in comparison to biomechanical parameters obtained with myoton…

- CONCLUSIONS: We report the lowest LF incidence to date for prospective ES trials. Large tumors, older age, and axial tumor subsite were associated with higher LF incidence, indicating further efforts are needed to identify the highest-risk subset most likely to benefit from improved LT strategies.

- A Multimodal Ultrasound Approach Combining Transperineal and Transrectal Shear Wave Elastography for Early Prediction of Stress Urinary Incontinence in Women. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The combination of TPUS, transrectal dual-plane ultrasound, and SWE provides a reliable, non-invasive diagnostic tool for predicting SUI. The study highlights the importance of urethral stiffness and bladder neck mobility in the pathophysiology of SUI. This multi-modal approach shows strong potential for early detection and personalized treatment strategies. This multimodal approach offers a non-invasive, reliable tool for early SUI detection and personalized management.

- Correlations Between the Trochanteric Soft Tissue Stiffness and the Pelvis Stiffness During Sideways Falls. [Journal Article]J Appl Biomech. 2026 Feb 01; 42(1):22-30.JA
- The pelvis and trochanteric soft tissue stiffness influence hip impact force during falls. We examined potential relationships between the stiffness values acquired from different methodologies. Twenty-six individuals simulated sideways falls. During trials, force-deformation data of the trochanteric soft tissue were recorded, then fitted to polynomial and exponential functions. Stiffness was det…

- Influence of Stride Length on Pelvic-Trunk Separation and Proximal Plyometrics in Baseball Pitching. [Journal Article]
- Pelvis and trunk counter-rotation are key factors known to effect throwing arm kinematics in baseball pitching, where energy or momentum is transferred from the lower extremities through to the trunk during the pitching cycle. The purpose of this study was to retrospectively analyze previously recorded motion capture data of 19 skilled competitive pitchers to test the a priori hypothesis whether …
