  • Short-Term Dietary Exposures and Thrombin Generation in Tanzanian Men: Exploratory Coagulation-Focused Analysis of a Randomized Dietary-Switch Trial. [Journal Article]

  • CONCLUSIONS: Short-term dietary westernization was associated with higher control-adjusted endogenous thrombin potential at 5 pM recombinant tissue factor, while the within-arm increase in prothrombin did not remain significant relative to controls. The uncontrolled Mbege arm showed a distinct pattern, with lower plasma concentrations of several coagulation proteins but higher endogenous thrombin potential at 1 pM recombinant tissue factor. These findings suggest that short-term dietary exposures may influence thrombin generation. However, given the small control groups, uncontrolled Mbege arm, and nonisocaloric design, these results are exploratory and require confirmation in larger controlled studies.
  • Laparoscopic transfer of in vitro fertilized gene-edited embryos in pigs. [Journal Article]
    Theriogenology. 2026 Oct 05; 268:118244. [Online ahead of print]Nagahara M, Namula Z, … Tanihara FT
  • Laparoscopic embryo transfer in pigs has been explored as a minimally invasive alternative to conventional laparotomic methods, which often lead to surgical risks such as adhesions, prolonged recovery, and postoperative complications. This study is the first to report the generation of genetically modified pigs via embryo transfer using a laparoscopic approach. Gene-edited embryos were prepared b…
  • A Rare Case of Acquired Haemophilia A Following Sigmoid Adenocarcinoma: Case Report and Literature Review. [Case Reports]
Asia Pac J Clin Oncol. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]Reardon B, Haran H, Curnow JAP
  • Acquired haemophilia A (AHA) is a rare autoimmune bleeding disorder resulting from the development of inhibitory autoantibodies against factor VIII (FVIII). Malignancy is a recognised association, although colorectal cancer remains an uncommon underlying cause. We report a 68-year-old woman with sigmoid adenocarcinoma who developed severe postoperative haemoperitoneum associated with progressive …
