  • The southern giant pouched rat (Cricetomys ansorgei) is a large rodent utilised in recognition of landmines, pulmonary tuberculosis and Brucella infection. Additionally, they are kept as pet animals. • Prenatal ultrasound diagnosis, intrauterine monitoring and postnatal management of a giant fetal abdominopelvic lymphangioma: a case report and scoping review. [Case Reports]
    Front Pediatr. 2026; 14:1805856.Giudice M, Viggiano M, … Fabietti IFP
  • CONCLUSIONS: Clinical presentation and outcomes of fetal abdominal and abdominopelvic lymphangiomas are highly heterogeneous and strongly influenced by lesion extent and intra-abdominal involvement. Our case, characterized by diffuse intestinal and mesenteric disease, highlights the limitations of curative surgical strategies and underscores the need for early recognition of patients who may require prolonged supportive management rather than a complete excision. The scoping review suggests that while focal lesions are often amenable to surgery with favorable outcomes, diffuse forms often require a multidisciplinary, staged approach, with realistic prognostic counseling and long-term follow-up.
  • [Polymyalgia rheumatica - frequent, but often overlooked]. [Review]
Dtsch Med Wochenschr. 2026 May; 151(11):537-542.Schneider L, Henes JDM
  • Musculoskeletal complaints of the shoulder/pelvic girdle are symptoms frequently described in patient care and are attributed to degenerative changes associated with increasing patient age. Polymyalgia rheumatica(PMR) is the second most common differential diagnosis of an inflammatory genesis after rheumatoid arthritis and should be ruled out. Patients diagnosed with PMR exhibit symptoms such as …

  • Minimally invasive management of colonic lipoma causing intussusception with endoloop in an adult. [Case Reports]
Radiol Case Rep. 2026 Aug; 21(8):3046-3051.Forrest JR, Chaudhuri U, … Triplett DRC
  • Intussusception is a condition in which one segment of the intestine (intussusceptum) telescopes into the lumen of an adjacent segment (intussuscipiens), potentially leading to obstruction. Giant colonic lipomas are rare and often asymptomatic, but when large enough, can serve as a lead point for intussusception. We present the case of a 62-year-old male patient who presented with nausea and vomi…

  • BACKGROUND AND CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Intravenous leiomyomatosis is a very rare disease that occurs in women of childbearing age and perimenopausal women.
