- Activation of the unfolded protein response via PERK-ATF4 signalling in deoxynivalenol- and PRRSV-co-exposed MARC-145 cells. [Journal Article]J Vet Sci. 2026 Aug 06. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Ultimately, co-exposure to DON and PRRSV disrupted the intracellular microenvironment in Marc-145 cells by modulating the PERK-ATF4 signaling pathway, accompanied by reducing the ability of host cells to replicate the virus.

- Multifunctional pH-responsive HA-c-FZ1 hydrogel presents a promising therapeutic strategy for diabetic skin wounds. [Journal Article]Burns Trauma. 2026; 14:tkag046.BT
- CONCLUSIONS: HA-c-FZ1 functions as a pH-responsive hydrogel dressing that combines peptide delivery with antimicrobial, redox-regulatory, immunomodulatory, and pro-angiogenic functions. These findings position it as a therapy for chronic diabetic wound repair by simultaneously addressing infection, inflammation, oxidative stress, and vascular regeneration.

- Association of Galectin-3 but not Laminin in Tamoxifen-Induced Growth Suppression in Breast Cancer MCF-7 Cells. [Journal Article]Int J Biochem Physiol. 2025; 10(2).IJ
- Tamoxifen (TAM), a selective estrogen receptor modulator, competes with estrogen for binding to estrogen receptor (ER) sites, thereby inhibiting estrogen-induced proliferation in ER-positive breast cancer cells. However, long-term treatment with TAM often leads to resistance, and its mechanisms, particularly involving biochemical markers, remain unclear. This study investigated the effects of TAM…

- Prevalence and correlates of antinuclear antibodies in a Japanese community sample: a cross-sectional study. [Journal Article]Curr Ther Res Clin Exp. 2026 Dec; 105:100845.CT
- CONCLUSIONS: These data provide a population-specific baseline for ANA positivity in a Japanese community sample and confirm that prevalence is higher in women and varies with age. Because ANA is frequently measured and may precede autoimmune disease, longitudinal studies are needed to clarify whether incidental positivity in healthy individuals carries prognostic significance.

- Combination of Empagliflozin and Resveratrol Mitigates Hepatic Steatosis via Attenuation of Inflammation and Promotion of Adipose Tissue Browning in High-Fat Diet-Fed C57BL/6J Mice. [Journal Article]FASEB J. 2026 Oct 15; 40(19):e72353.FJ
- Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a major hepatic complication of obesity with a complex pathogenesis. This study aims to investigate the combined effects of empagliflozin (EMPA) and resveratrol (RSV) treatment on obesity-associated MASLD in a high-fat diet (HFD)-fed mouse model. C57BL/6J mice were fed by HFD for 23 weeks, along with treatment with EMPA (0.01% w/…

- Magnolol enhances yak oocyte maturation and blastocyst quality by improving lipid metabolism and redox homeostasis through a PPARγ-dependent mechanism. [Journal Article]J Anim Sci Biotechnol. 2026 Oct 02; 17(1).JA
- CONCLUSIONS: MAG improves yak oocyte quality and embryonic developmental competence by promoting lipid homeostasis, maintaining redox balance, and enhancing mitochondrial function. The beneficial effects of MAG are closely associated with the involvement of PPARγ signaling in the regulation of lipid homeostasis. These findings provide a potential strategy for improving the efficiency of yak assisted reproductive technologies.

- Lipopolysaccharide-induced alterations in barrier integrity and inflammatory signaling in porcine small intestinal organoids. [Journal Article]PLoS One. 2026; 21(10):e0359086.Plos
- Inflammation-associated diseases in pigs impair the intestinal tract and impair its function, thereby posing a major threat to their health and productivity. However, current in vitro cell models fail to fully replicate porcine physiological conditions. In this study, we aimed to develop a novel inflammation model using porcine small intestinal organoids derived from adult jejunum stimulated with…

- Distinct tumor microenvironment profiles characterize regressive versus progressive anal precancers. [Journal Article]iScience. 2026 Oct 16; 29(10):117404.I
- Oncogenesis of anal high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) is highly variable. Therefore, all HSIL are ablated, leading to overtreatment and associated burden because not all lesions will progress to cancer. This exploratory study investigated differences in the tumor immune microenvironment between regressive and progressive HSIL in people living with HIV to enable a more tailored ap…

- Exacerbation of Bullous Pemphigoid following a Closed Bone Fracture in an Elderly Patient: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Case Rep Dermatol. 2026; 18(1):695-703.CR
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights that closed skeletal trauma, even without surgical intervention, can serve as a precipitating factor for generalized BP. The mechanism likely involves the release of sequestered antigens and epitope spreading due to internal tissue damage. Clinicians should maintain a high index of suspicion for BP in elderly patients presenting with cutaneous eruptions following orthopedic injuries to ensure prompt diagnosis and effective management.

- Comparative Protective Effects of ATP and TPP Against Olaparib-Induced Ovarian Injury in Rats: Insights from Biochemical Parameters, Histopathology, and IRE1α, Cleaved Caspase-3, LC3B, and NF-κB p65 Double Immunofluorescence. [Journal Article]Drug Des Devel Ther. 2026; 20:634516.DD
- CONCLUSIONS: Olaparib induced ovarian injury accompanied by oxidative stress, cytokine-mediated inflammation, IRE1α-related endoplasmic reticulum stress, cleaved Caspase-3-related apoptosis, LC3B-related autophagy, and NF-κB-related inflammatory signaling. Both ATP and TPP attenuated olaparib-associated injury, with greater effects for ATP. These findings suggest that maintenance of cellular energy homeostasis may represent a promising strategy for attenuating PARP inhibitor-induced ovarian injury.
