- CONCLUSIONS: Respiratory exercises differ in terms of pain and ease of performance during the early postoperative period. Deep breathing appears to be the most feasible and best-tolerated method, whereas coughing is associated with greater pain.

- CONCLUSIONS: In elderly patients awaiting elective cardiac surgery, a 3-week physiotherapist-supervised respiratory training protocol was feasible and was associated with improved preoperative FVC. Because of the small sample size, absence of randomization, and lack of a control group, these findings should be interpreted as exploratory and hypothesis-generating. Larger controlled studies are required to determine whether preoperative respiratory training improves postoperative pulmonary or functional recovery.

- CONCLUSIONS: This study describes real-world safety and perioperative outcomes in patients undergoing RATS with adjunctive cryoNB using the REDUCE registry. In this observational cohort, patients who received cryoNB demonstrated decreasing opioid use over the course of hospitalization, with adequate pain control and preserved incentive spirometry volumes throughout the postoperative and follow-up period.

- CONCLUSIONS: Smart inhalers are feasible, acceptable, and usable for adolescents with IDD, and are associated with significant improvement in observer-rated inhaler technique when combined with standard clinical education. Given the inherent challenges of spirometry in this population, future studies should incorporate effort-independent clinical assessment measures.

- CONCLUSIONS: Respiratory training using an induced Incentive Spirometer may help alleviate dyspnea and improve post-COVID-19 functional status in individuals with Long COVID. Earlier intervention appeared to yield better outcomes, although improvements were also observed even 9-12 months after infection. However, further studies with comprehensive pulmonary assessments are needed to confirm these findings.

- CONCLUSIONS: This study describes the broad range of respiratory physiotherapy interventions most frequently delivered in patients receiving prolonged MV in the ICU, with consistency across most regions. Findings support the idea that a "usual care" definition can be applied broadly across Australian ICUs, but this "usual care" appears to lag behind current evidence for some interventions, including inspiratory muscle training and incentive spirometry.

- CONCLUSIONS: ACBT was associated with lower pain and anxiety and higher arterial oxygen saturation in patients after CABG surgery. These findings suggest that ACBT may warrant consideration for integration into postoperative respiratory care protocols, pending further research with stronger methodological controls. However, the absence of participant blinding and potential attention bias limit causal inference, and future studies with sham controls are needed.
