- Structure-based multi-pocket virtual screening identifies FDA-approved candidate compounds targeting MPXV thymidylate kinase. [Journal Article]Front Cell Infect Microbiol. 2026; 16:1743154.FC
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that DB11791 may represent a promising TMK-targeting candidate. More broadly, the combined multi-pocket consensus screening and dynamic evaluation strategy provides a computational framework for antiviral drug repurposing. Further experimental validation is required to confirm the antiviral activity of these candidates.

- Beta-Blockers for the Treatment of Arrhythmias: Which Drug for Which Arrhythmia? A State-of-the-Art Narrative Review. [Review]
- Beta-blockers are among the most widely prescribed drugs in the management of both supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, and they are frequently regarded as a homogeneous pharmacological class. They are not. The agents in current use differ substantially in beta1-receptor selectivity, lipophilicity, half-life, route of administration, intrinsic sympathomimetic activity, and ancillary prop…

- Effect of nebivolol on nitric oxide availability and ADMA concentration in CAD patients after PCI: Prospective randomized double-blind study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients after PCI, treatment for 42 days was found to significantly enhance NO availability and decrease systemic ADMA concentration by nebivolol. These results clearly establish that nebivolol has the potential to restore vascular homeostasis in the high-risk vascular window, hence making it an ideal supplementary treatment for patients having atherosclerotic diseases.

- Long-term clinical outcomes of carvedilol versus nebivolol in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction treated with second-generation drug-eluting stents: insights from a Korean nationwide multicenter prospective registry. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this contemporary cohort of patients with STEMI treated with DES, carvedilol was associated with better long-term clinical outcomes, including lower risks of MACE and all-cause mortality, compared with nebivolol.

- Metabolic Disturbances Associated with Beta-Blocker Therapy: New Insights from a Large-Scale Pharmacovigilance Study. [Journal Article]
- Background: Beta-blockers (BBs) remain a foundation of cardiovascular therapy. However, cumulative evidence suggests that metabolic adverse effects may differ significantly between individual sub-classes. While conventional BBs have been associated with changes in glucose and lipid metabolism, the comparative real-world reporting patterns of these events have not been comprehensively evaluated. O…

- Administration of nebivolol after subcutaneous ovarian autotransplantation improves neoangiogenesis, follicular survival, and growth in mice. [Journal Article]Reprod Fertil Dev. 2026 Sep 04; 38(13).RF
- CONCLUSIONS: Overall, our findings suggested that nebivolol treatment has promising therapeutic potential to preserve ovarian function and promote neoangiogenesis, particularly in poorly vascularized transplantation sites.

- Development of pH-Sensitive β‑Adrenergic Receptor Antagonists. [Journal Article]
- G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) can trigger distinct signaling pathways depending on their localization. Because their appearance is not restricted, GPCRs can signal not only from the plasma membrane but also from internalized compartments. The pH of endosomes is significantly lower compared to the extracellular environment, and thus, location-biased ligands can be developed by carefully adju…

- Effects of Propranolol, Metoprolol, and Nebivolol on isolated rat atrial preparations and thoracic aorta: Involvement of nitric oxide in nebivolol-induced negative chronotropic and inotropic responses. [Journal Article]Physiol Int. 2026 Aug 07. [Online ahead of print]PI
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings demonstrate that propranolol, metoprolol, and nebivolol show differential pharmacological profiles affecting atrial and vascular responses under NA stimulation in isolated rat atrial and aorta preparations. Notably, NO appears to be a key mediator of nebivolol's cardiac effects, reflected in its pronounced negative chronotropic and inotropic responses in isolated atrial tissues.

- A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials on atenolol's impact on postoperative atrial fibrillation in adults undergoing cardiac surgery. [Meta-Analysis]
- Prior research has conducted a limited number of studies on the efficacy of atenolol in preventing atrial fibrillation following cardiac surgery (CS). Consequently, a comprehensive evaluation and meta-analysis were undertaken to assess the effectiveness and safety of atenolol in patients undergoing CS for the prevention of postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF). A meta-analysis of randomized co…

- Mechanistic intersections of empagliflozin and nebivolol in aging-associated redox and inflammatory pathways. [Review]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1842207.FP
- Aging is characterized by interconnected disturbances in oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and nutrient-sensing pathways that collectively contribute to progressive metabolic and vascular decline. Among the central molecular mechanisms implicated in these processes are dysregulation of the AMPK-mTOR-SIRT1 axis, persistent NF-κB activation, impaired Nrf2-mediated a…

- Nebivolol treatment improves hypertension-induced endothelial cell dysfunction by reducing TGF-β1-dependent senescence and normalizing mitochondrial indices. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CONCLUSIONS: Nebivolol was the most effective at reducing the factors, associated with HT induced cellular senescence of endothelium, through reducing TGF-β1.

- Therapeutic use of cardioselective beta-blockers for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a review of current clinical evidence. [Systematic Review]
- Cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension, coronary artery diseases (CAD), arrhythmias, and chronic heart failure (CHF), often require treatment with beta-blockers. These conditions frequently coexist with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which can complicate therapeutic decisions. Indeed, patients with moderate-to-severe COPD are frequently not given these agents out of concern …

- The Nephroprotective Effects of Nebivolol Against Cyclophosphamide-Induced Toxicity Occur via Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Pathways. [Journal Article]J Biochem Mol Toxicol. 2026 Jul; 40(7):e70996.JB
- Cyclophosphamide is a chemotherapy drug used to treat various types of neoplasms and autoimmune diseases. During its hepatic metabolism, acrolein is formed, a toxic metabolite responsible for increasing oxidative stress in tissues such as the kidney. Acrolein-induced oxidative stress is characterized by the excessive formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and lipid peroxidation. Additionally,…
