  • Detection of insecticide resistance and knockdown resistance (kdr) mutations in Aedes albopictus across different regions. [Journal Article]
    Front Cell Infect Microbiol. 2026; 16:1892686.Xu N, Pan X, … Liu HFC
  • CONCLUSIONS: The studied Ae. albopictus populations showed high resistance to three commonly used pyrethroid insecticides, while relatively lower resistance was observed for propoxur and malathion. kdr mutation frequencies varied across regions, with generally low mutation rates at codon 1016. The mutation frequency at codon 1534 was lower in Jining than in Guangzhou and Haikou, whereas codon 1532 showed a relatively higher mutation frequency in Jining. These findings highlight the importance of rational insecticide use, continuous resistance monitoring, and rotation of insecticides to delay resistance development and spread.
  • Metabolomic Changes Underpinning Permethrin Resistance in the Anopheles gambiae Vector from Cameroon. [Journal Article]
ACS Meas Sci Au. 2026 Aug 19; 6(4):1081-1090.Djova SV, Christopher MW, … Wondji CSAM
  • Insecticide resistance reduces the effectiveness of current malaria-vector-control interventions. To understand the mechanisms underlying permethrin resistance in field-derived Anopheles gambiae vectors collected from Cameroon, we used ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS/MS) to comprehensively analyze metabolic changes in …
  • An Unusual Perioral Presentation of Pityriasis Folliculorum Mimicking Periorificial Dermatitis. [Case Reports]
    Cureus. 2026 Jul; 18(7):e112929.Kunzler H, Sun L, Rohr BRC
  • Demodex mites are commonly found on human skin, but excessive proliferation can contribute to inflammatory eruptions. Pityriasis folliculorum is a Demodex‑associated condition characterized by follicular roughness and fine scale. Although it most often affects the cheeks, its presentation can vary and may resemble other papulopustular disorders. We describe a patient who developed a perioral papu…
  • Subungual hyperkeratosis as a diagnostic cue in crusted scabies. [Journal Article]
IDCases. 2026; 45:e02711.Roberts BT, Kempton D, Konstantinov NKI
  • Crusted scabies is a severe and uncommon variant of Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis infestation and typically arises in older adults with impaired cellular immunity. Secondary erythroderma and bacteremia are feared complications that may lead to increased morbidity. Herein, we report a case of crusted scabies with subungual involvement in a 65-year-old man with vascular dementia, schizophrenia, an…
