  • MHC restriction is structurally encoded by the T cell receptor germline. [Journal Article]
bioRxiv. 2026 Sep 29.Wang N, Borowska MT, … Garcia KCB
  • MHC restriction - the requirement for αβ T cell receptors (TCRs) to recognize Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) molecules when presenting peptide antigens - is a pillar of adaptive immunity. Here, we provide direct structural evidence for TCR germline-encoded recognition of MHC molecules irrespective of antigenic peptide. We engineered "germline-like" TCRs to eliminate CDR3 specificity for p…
  • Menin inhibitors in acute leukemia: Advances and future directions. [Review]
Hematol Oncol Stem Cell Ther. 2026 Apr 01; 19(2):e0007.Nasiri A, Saleh MFM, … Aljurf MHO
  • CONCLUSIONS: Menin inhibitors represent a significant advance for genetically defined acute leukemias, safely delivering clinically meaningful responses in KMT2Ar and NPM1m cases. Ongoing phase 3 studies will clarify if there is a survival benefit and the optimal use. Integrating menin inhibitors with existing therapies, from low-intensity combinations in older adults to intensive chemotherapy backbones in fit patients, is driving unprecedented response rates. Continued research into resistance mechanisms and innovative AI-guided treatment personalization will be essential to extend remission durability. As menin inhibitors move into frontline and pediatric settings, and as maintenance therapy posttransplant, they are positioned to become a new pillar of precision hematology, potentially improving cure rates for high-risk acute leukemia subgroups.
  • γδ T Cells in Cancer Immunotherapy, 2000-2025: A Bibliometric Analysis and Clinical-Trial Evidence Map. [Review]
Crit Rev Oncol Hematol. 2026 Oct 06; :105636. [Online ahead of print]Wang Y, He Y, … Wang JCR
  • γδ T cells are promising cancer-immunotherapy effectors because they recognize tumors without major histocompatibility complex (MHC) restriction and carry low graft-versus-host-disease risk in allogeneic settings, yet few bibliometric studies have integrated immunotherapy-specific research trends with clinical-trial mapping and translational-gap analysis. We characterized the global research outp…
  • Intestinal Villi-Inspired Living Biobatteries via Habitat-Engineered Conductive Hydrogel Architectures. [Journal Article]
    Small. 2026 Sep 30; :e76091. [Online ahead of print]Zhang R, Wang B, Choi SS
  • Microbial bioelectrocatalysis demands more than electron-conducting surfaces-it demands living microenvironments that hydrate, protect, and nourish whole-cell biocatalysts. This biological imperative remains unaddressed by conventional electrode design. Here, we fundamentally reframe microbial biobattery architecture through living habitat engineering, drawing inspiration from the human small int…
  • A magnetic artificial cilia platform for dynamic mechanical stimulation of cells. [Journal Article]
Lab Chip. 2026 Sep 30. [Online ahead of print]Schoutens EJD, Arends J, … den Toonder JMJLC
  • Mechanical forces play a key role in regulating cell behaviour, with dynamically changing mechanical cues governing processes such as morphogenesis, wound healing, and cancer progression in vivo. However, there is a lack of experimental platforms that enable localized, dynamic, and tuneable mechanical stimulation under real-time imaging. Here, we present a large deflection magnetic artificial cil…
  • [Current Systemic Therapy of Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma]. [Journal Article]
Aktuelle Urol. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]Cieslik SA, Darr C, … Grünwald VAU
  • Metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) has undergone a fundamental therapeutic transformation over the past two decades. Following a prolonged period during which treatment options were limited to immunomodulatory therapies with modest efficacy due to the marked chemoresistance of this malignancy, the introduction of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGF)-targeted tyrosine …
  • Rhizosphere Microbiome-Mediated Drought Resilience in Cereals: Implications for Grain Nutrition, Yield, and Tolerance. [Review]
Plant Cell Environ. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]Saeed M, Huang X, … Yang PPC
  • Drought-mediated declines in grain nutritional quality and cereal yield put global food security at risk, yet the rhizosphere microbiome provides an alternative solution for improving crop tolerance. Our review synthesised existing knowledge on how soil microbiomes, particularly arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), simultaneously regulate three inter…
  • Neuroinflammation and metabolic reprogramming in Parkinson's disease. [Review]
    Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1857394.Fu Y, Yu J, … Deng QFI
  • Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most prevalent neurodegenerative disorder worldwide, characterized by progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc) and the pathological accumulation of Lewy bodies composed predominantly of aggregated α-synuclein (αSyn). Despite decades of progress in genetics and neuropathology, the mechanisms driving disease initiat…
