- Diagnostic Accuracy of Ultrasound for Adolescent Pelvic Avulsion Fractures: A Blinded Multirater Study. [Journal Article]J Clin Ultrasound. 2026 Jul 10. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Clinicians with minimal ultrasound training demonstrated accuracy in interpreting ultrasound images of pelvic avulsion fractures, suggesting ultrasound interpretation may be learnable. These findings support the use of ultrasound as a reliable adjunct imaging modality for diagnosing pelvic avulsion injuries in adolescent athletes, including in cases where radiographs appear inconclusive or normal. Greater emphasis should be placed on incorporating ultrasound into clinical practice to reduce unnecessary pelvic radiation exposure.

- Acute toxicity and quality of life with stereotactic body radiotherapy versus conventional fractionated intensity-modulated radiotherapy to the prostate and pelvis in high-risk prostate cancer (SRAM): A randomized phase II trial. [Journal Article]Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys. 2026 Jul 10. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Once-weekly SBRT to the prostate and pelvis significantly reduced acute GI toxicity and provided comparable GU safety relative to IMRT, with supportive early patient-reported outcomes. These findings extend SBRT evidence to the pelvis-inclusive setting in HR-PC and support phase III trials.

- CONCLUSIONS: Wide-volume CT pelvimetry achieved a consistent two-thirds reduction in scanner output and maternal size-adjusted dose, with a 56.0% reduction in size-adjusted foetal dose, while maintaining robust anatomical landmark conspicuity and improved dose efficiency. VMCT represents a viable low-dose alternative when CT pelvimetry is clinically indicated.

- Short-term sacral neuromodulation sustained long-term efficacy in the management of postoperative urinary retention after pelvic surgery: a case report. [Journal Article]J Med Case Rep. 2026 Jul 09. [Online ahead of print]JM
- CONCLUSIONS: This case suggests that short-term sacral neuromodulation can exert rapid and long-lasting effects on bladder dysfunction secondary to pelvic nerve injury, which may help reconstruct the micturition reflex and improve bladder function. The therapeutic effect could be well maintained after stimulation discontinuation and electrode removal, and no recurrence of dysuria was noted within the six-month follow-up period. This observation provides a novel reference for the treatment strategy and duration of SNM in managing urinary retention. Nevertheless, its definitive efficacy still requires verification through more clinical cases and prolonged follow-up.

- Diagnostic Pitfalls in Obturator Hernia: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e110420.C
- Obturator hernia is a rare clinical entity that predominantly affects elderly, thin women due to anatomical factors such as a wider pelvis and the loss of preperitoneal fat. Despite its classic description, the preoperative diagnosis remains a major challenge due to its deep location and non-specific presentation as a mechanical small bowel obstruction. This report describes the case of a 66-year…

- Influence of Setup Uncertainties: Optimizing Clinical Target Volume-to-planning Target Volume Margins in Total Marrow and Lymphoid Irradiation. [Journal Article]J Med Phys. 2026; 51(2):285-294.JM
- CONCLUSIONS: VMAT-based TMLI requires region-specific margins to account for setup uncertainties, particularly in extremities. Image-guided adaptive strategies can optimize target coverage while minimizing normal tissue exposure. Precise image guidance and tailored margins are crucial for maximizing treatment efficacy and minimizing side effects in TMLI.

- [Iatrogenic ureteral injuries: analysis of etiology, clinical features, and outcomes of reconstructive treatment (experience of a specialized center)]. [Journal Article]Urologiia. 2026 Mar; (1):54-61.U
- CONCLUSIONS: The study showed that iatrogenic ureteral injuries in Kyrgyzstan most often occur after obstetric and gynecological surgical procedures and involve the distal ureter. Unfavorable outcomes are mainly associated with chronic kidney disease, prior radiotherapy, and late detection. In the absence of these factors, reconstructive procedures, including ureteroneocystostomy, allow preservation of renal function in the long term. Improving intraoperative diagnosis and standardizing management approaches remain key priorities to increase treatment efficiency.
- [Early evaluation of the efficacy of radioguided surgery in reducing the incidence of lymphocele and lower limb lymphedema after robot-assisted prostatectomy with pelvic lymph node dissection]. [Journal Article]Urologiia. 2025 Dec; (6):47-56.U
- CONCLUSIONS: The use of radioguided surgery with lymphotropic tracer (99mTc) during RARP with PLND can reduce the risk of complications associated with the operation. The approach described above may be a promising solution to the problem of postoperative lymphatic complications.
- [Electromagnetic stimulation of pelvic floor muscles in the treatment of urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy: results of a prospective randomized controlled clinical study]. [Randomized Controlled Trial]Urologiia. 2025 Dec; (6):5-11.U
- CONCLUSIONS: Extracorporeal electromagnetic stimulation of pelvic floor muscles accelerates the recovery of urinary continence after radical prostatectomy, demonstrates sustained efficacy in reducing nocturia, and is oncologically safe. It is recommended to include EMS course in rehabilitation program of patients after RP for faster continence recovery and quality of life improvement.
- Evaluation of Cone-Beam Computed Tomography imaging protocols in radiation therapy: Dose assessment in pediatric and adult phantoms and a national survey of clinical practice. [Journal Article]J Med Imaging Radiat Sci. 2026 Jul 07; 57(5):102483. [Online ahead of print]JM
- CONCLUSIONS: CBCT imaging dose is influenced by acquisition parameters, anatomical region, and phantom size. The observed national variability in pediatric CBCT protocols, together with higher CBDIw values in smaller phantoms, highlights the need for size-adapted protocol optimization, systematic dose monitoring, and harmonization of clinical practice. These findings provide quantitative evidence to support radiation protection strategies and the development of reference levels for CBCT imaging in pediatric radiotherapy.

- First Reported Asian Cases of Robot-Assisted Simultaneous Bilateral Nephrectomy With Kidney Transplantation in Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease: A Case Series. [Case Reports]Ann Transplant. 2026 Jul 07; 31:e952581.AT
- BACKGROUND Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is frequently associated with massive kidney enlargement, which complicates kidney transplantation by limiting intra-abdominal space. Simultaneous bilateral nephrectomy with kidney transplantation can reduce surgical burden and avoid staged procedures, but it is technically demanding and rarely performed using robotic surgery. No suc…
