  • Lasers for the treatment of eyebrow microblading and cosmetic tattoo pigment: a review of the literature. [Review]
Lasers Med Sci. 2023 Nov 07; 38(1):256.Geisler AN, Eber A, … Arndt KALM
  • We aim to discuss the use of laser for the treatment of eyebrow microblading and cosmetic tattoo complications through a review of the literature. Our research question is whether quality-switched or picosecond laser is superior for the removal of eyebrow tattoos. This structured review was conducted using a PubMed search using the search terms "laser tattoo removal" AND "cosmetic tattoo" AND "ey…
  • Laser Treatment of Accidental Tattoos: Experience at a Tertiary Referral Center. [Journal Article]
Dermatology. 2020; 236(4):383-389.Eggenschwiler CDC, Dummer R, Imhof LD
  • CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate the validity and safety of quality-switched and picosecond lasers in the treatment of accidental hyperpigmentation. Using a combination of different wavelengths and pulse lengths on the same lesion and gradually increasing the fluence in the course of the laser treatment is recommendable to increase efficacy. We observed a tendency towards faster elimination of facial accidental tattoos and/or originating from road injuries compared to tattoos located on the extremities and those caused by explosions, piercings or iatrogenic measures or consisting of metal pigment particles.
  • Less fit Lamium amplexicaule plants produce more dispersible seeds. [Journal Article]
    Sci Rep. 2019 Apr 19; 9(1):6299.Zinger E, Gueijman A, … Hadany LSR
  • Theory predicts that less fit individuals would disperse more often than fitter ones (Fitness Associated Dispersal, FAD hypothesis). To test this prediction under laboratory conditions, an entire life cycle of Lamium amplexicaule plants and the preferences of its dispersal agent, Messor ebeninus ants, were tracked. Characterization of individual L. amplexicaule plant revealed high variability in …
  • Management of Cercospora Leaf Spot in Conventional and Organic Table Beet Production. [Journal Article]
Plant Dis. 2017 Sep; 101(9):1642-1651.Pethybridge SJ, Vaghefi N, Kikkert JRPD
  • Cercospora leaf spot (CLS; Cercospora beticola) is the most important foliar disease affecting table beet. Epidemics occur annually and fungicides extend the survival of foliage to enable mechanized harvest. However, a high frequency of strobilurin-resistant C. beticola isolates necessitates the identification of fungicides with different modes of action for tactical rotation. There is also subst…
  • Alterations of proteins in MDCK cells during acute potassium deficiency. [Journal Article]
    Biochim Biophys Acta. 2016 Jun; 1864(6):683-696.Peerapen P, Ausakunpipat N, … Thongboonkerd VBB
  • Chronic K(+) deficiency can cause hypokalemic nephropathy associated with metabolic alkalosis, polyuria, tubular dilatation, and tubulointerstitial injury. However, effects of acute K(+) deficiency on the kidney remained unclear. This study aimed to explore such effects by evaluating changes in levels of proteins in renal tubular cells during acute K(+) deficiency. MDCK cells were cultivated in n…
