- Integrative Multi-Omics Analysis Reveals FAAH and LIPE as Candidate Targets in OBS-Induced Spermatogenic and Fertility Impairment. [Journal Article]Food Chem Toxicol. 2026 Oct 11; :116440. [Online ahead of print]FC
- CONCLUSIONS: OBS exposure was associated with impaired spermatogenesis and reduced male reproductive performance in mice. FAAH and LIPE may be involved in OBS-associated testicular injury, although their functional roles and direct interactions with OBS require further experimental validation. These findings provide additional evidence of the male reproductive toxicity of OBS and highlight the need for continued evaluation of emerging PFAS alternatives.

- De-novo mutation burden in ART-conceived offspring: no overall increase but subgroup differences by fertilization and transfer strategy. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 13; 53(6):105973. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: Children conceived via ART procedures do not show an overall increase in DNM burden compared with naturally conceived children. Exploratory subgroup differences by fertilization and transfer strategy were observed; however, these findings require independent replication and should be interpreted with caution. Further studies are warranted to confirm these observations and to investigate potential mechanisms.

- Role of Indocyanine Green in Laparoscopic Varicocele Ligation in a Tertiary Care Hospital. [Journal Article]J West Afr Coll Surg. 2026 Oct-Dec; 16(4):445-452.JW
- CONCLUSIONS: Intraoperative administration of ICG leads to a significant decrease in operative time due to the early identification of the spermatic vessels and early ligation of the spermatic vein. Postoperative complications such as hydrocele and recurrence of varicoceles are reduced when ICG is used in these cases, with a significant improvement in post-surgical sperm motility and concentration.

- Endogenous Expression of the Class I Phosphatidylinositol Transfer Protein PPIT-2 in Caenorhabditis elegans. [Journal Article]MicroPubl Biol. 2026; 2026.MB
- Phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins (PITPs) transfer phosphatidylinositol (PI) between the ER and target membranes to regulate phosphoinositide metabolism. However, the expression patterns of class I PITPs in C. elegans remain largely uncharacterized. Here, we generated an endogenous GFP knock-in reporter for PPIT-2 (formerly Y71G12B.17), a conserved homolog of human PITPNA and PITPNB. GFP::PP…

- Spontaneous Pregnancy After Surgical Correction of a Prostatic Utricle Cyst and Recurrent Varicocele: A Case Report. [Journal Article]Case Rep Urol. 2026; 2026:5477079.CR
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the importance of comprehensive andrological evaluation, including imaging studies, in couples with a pre-existing, known male-factor abnormality, even when formal infertility criteria are not yet met. Prostatic utricle cysts should be considered in the differential diagnosis of obstructive male infertility, particularly in patients with unexplained hypospermia. In this case, combined correction of coexisting reproductive tract abnormalities was followed by normalisation of postoperative semen parameters and a favourable reproductive outcome; because semen analysis was performed only after conception had already occurred, a causal relationship with the pregnancy itself cannot be definitively established, but the findings support a positive physiological effect of surgery. Surgical reintervention for recurrent varicocele remains justified in selected patients with persistently abnormal semen parameters.

- Associations of lipid metabolic parameters with cumulative live birth rate in PCOS patients undergoing IVF/ICSI and development of a nomogram-based predictive model. [Journal Article]Front Endocrinol (Lausanne). 2026; 17:1924206.FE
- CONCLUSIONS: Dyslipidemia, primarily elevated TG, is independently associated with lower CLBR in PCOS patients undergoing IVF/ICSI. Our nomogram incorporates TG, apolipoprotein A, BMI, trigger-day estradiol and progesterone, high-quality embryo rate and high-quality blastocyst rate. This tool may serve as a foundation for future external validation and exploratory risk stratification, though clinical application requires prospective multicenter studies.

- Sperm development requires TMC5-dependent mechanoresponsive calcium entry. [Journal Article]bioRxiv. 2026 Sep 28.B
- Spermiogenesis, the transformation of round spermatids into streamlined, fertilization-competent sperm, represents cellular morphogenesis at its most extreme [1,2] . Despite decades of effort, spermiogenesis remains difficult to recapitulate outside the testis [2,3] , highlighting the importance of cues within the native tissue environment. The nature of these cues, however, remains poorly unders…

- Mitochondrial Calcium Uptake Promotes Mitochondrial Activation and Hyperactivated Motility During Human Sperm Capacitation. [Journal Article]bioRxiv. 2026 Oct 02.B
- Capacitation is a post-ejaculatory maturation process by which sperm become hyperactive and undergo the acrosome reaction, both of which are required to fertilize an oocyte. Two key features of capacitation are increased intracellular calcium via the calcium channel CatSper and changes in mitochondrial function. In mouse spermatozoa, CatSper-dependent calcium entry promotes mitochondrial calcium …
