- Comparative accuracy of imaging modalities for differentiating malignant small testicular masses. [Review]BJU Int. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]BI
- CONCLUSIONS: The CEUS demonstrates the highest combined sensitivity and specificity for differentiating benign from malignant testicular masses, significantly outperforming conventional B-Mode US and MRI in specificity. CEUS represents a compelling decision-making tool to support testis-sparing strategies and reduce unnecessary orchidectomies for indeterminate small testicular masses.

- Development of the ECMO nursing self-efficacy Perception scale: A validity and reliability study. [Journal Article]Perfusion. 2026 Oct 10; :2676591261496709. [Online ahead of print]P
- Caring for patients receiving ECMO in the ICU is a complex process that requires advanced knowledge, technical skills, and confident clinical decision-making from nurses. Despite the increasing use of ECMO in Türkiye, no comprehensive, validated tool exists to measure ICU nurses' self-efficacy in ECMO care. This methodological study aimed to develop the ECMO Nursing Self-Efficacy Perception Scale…

- Perioperative Hospital-at-Home Program: A Scoping Review. [Review]World J Surg. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]WJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Perioperative HaH shows promise as a rapidly evolving model of perioperative care, but the current evidence base is limited by small, largely noncomparative studies and a lack of standardized outcome measures. This is the first scoping review to systematically map perioperative-specific HaH models across pre- and postoperative phases and surgical specialties. Strengthening the quality of evidence is essential to inform policy, guide best practices, and support the safe and scalable adoption of perioperative HaH programs.

- From oncogenesis to approval: the lentiviral gene therapy revolution in Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome. [Review]Regen Med. 2026 Oct 10; :1-10. [Online ahead of print]RM
- Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS) is an X-linked primary immunodeficiency caused by pathogenic variants in the WAS gene, resulting in absent or dysfunctional WAS protein (WASp) and a clinical triad of eczema, recurrent infections, and micro-thrombocytopenia. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has historically represented the only curative option, but outcomes are constrained by donor…

- Remote-Controlled Genetic Circuits: Light, Ultrasound, and Magnetic Fields for Programmable Gene Regulation. [Review]Adv Mater. 2026 Oct 10; :e75338. [Online ahead of print]AM
- Remote-controlled genetic circuits use externally applied physical signals to regulate gene expression and cellular functions with spatial and temporal precision. Light, ultrasound, and magnetic fields provide complementary advantages in controllability, tissue accessibility, and biological compatibility, but their performance depends on both physical-field propagation and efficient conversion of…

- Evaluation of a Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography Design Space for Amino Acids. [Journal Article]J Sep Sci. 2026 Oct; 49(10):e70547.JS
- A column ranking system was developed for the separation of all 20 proteinogenic amino acids using hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography mode across 18 polar stationary phases with acetonitrile/aqueous mobile phases. Each amino acid was individually evaluated on all columns using gradient elution, and the retention time data were compiled into a statistical ranking algorithm that enables …

- Perceived Organizational Support and Nurses' Job Performance: The Indirect Roles of Burnout and Quiet Quitting. [Journal Article]Res Nurs Health. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]RN
- Perceived organizational support is an important organizational resource that may shape nurses' psychological well-being, workplace engagement, and performance-related outcomes. This study examined the relationship between perceived organizational support and nurses' job performance and explored whether burnout and quiet quitting showed indirect associations consistent with mediation. A cross-sec…

- Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most prevalent cause of childhood physical disability worldwide, affecting approximately 1.6 per 1,000 live births and imposing permanent deficits across motor, cognitive, and psychosocial domains. Conventional rehabilitation is frequently constrained by poor engagement and inadequate practice intensity in pediatric populations. Game-based interventions - encompassing v…

- Recent Advances in Sample Preparation for Cholesterol and Oxysterol Analysis in Complex Biological Matrices. [Review]J Sep Sci. 2026 Oct; 49(10):e70539.JS
- Cholesterol and oxysterols are key molecules that regulate physiological processes and participate in the occurrence and progression of various major diseases. Accurate and efficient analytical detection of these substances in complex biological matrices is critical for disease mechanism research and biomarker discovery. However, challenges including complex biological matrices, large differences…

- High Prevalence and Clinical Burden of Bleeding Disorder of Unknown Cause in Adolescents With Heavy Menstrual Bleeding: Application of New Definition by the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. [Journal Article]Haemophilia. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]H
- CONCLUSIONS: BDUC is highly prevalent among adolescents with HMB and is associated with a clinical burden comparable to, and in some domains exceeding, that of established bleeding disorders. These findings support BDUC as a clinically meaningful phenotype and highlight the need for improved diagnostic precision and targeted management strategies.

- Artificial Intelligence Echocardiographic Interpretation in the Emergency Department: Agreement, Interpretation Yield and Reporting Scope. [Multicenter Study]Emerg Med Australas. 2026 Oct; 38(5):e70364.EM
- CONCLUSIONS: AI agreed with expert review in about three-quarters of evaluations but provided a guideline-compliant interpretation in less than half; a pragmatic approach raised yield to 70% at the same agreement. The AI withheld classifications that experts could reach; its validated scope covers only part of what ED echocardiography must address, and reports did not mark unassessed parameters. This study reports agreement, not accuracy. For now, human expert review of AI reports is required.

- In Vitro Methods for Assessing Polyphenol-Based Inhibition of the Diabetes Key Target α-Glucosidase: A Critical Analysis of Methodological Variability. [Review]Crit Rev Anal Chem. 2026 Oct 09; :1-30. [Online ahead of print]CR
- α-Glucosidase is a key therapeutic target in the management of type 2 diabetes, as its inhibition delays glucose absorption into the bloodstream and thus attenuates postprandial hyperglycemia. Although several clinically approved antidiabetic agents function as α-glucosidase inhibitors, their clinical use is often constrained by gastrointestinal adverse effects. These side effects have driven eff…
