  • Clinical Outcomes of Orbital Fat Decompression in Pediatric Thyroid Eye Disease: A Two-Center Retrospective Study. [Journal Article]
    Clin Ophthalmol. 2026; 20:637025.Kizaki A, Kashima TCO
  • CONCLUSIONS: Orbital fat decompression via a sutureless transconjunctival approach achieved clinically meaningful and statistically significant improvement in proptosis and lower eyelid position in pediatric TED, with generally self-limiting complications and no vision-threatening adverse events, although mild asymptomatic pupillary asymmetry persisted in one patient at final follow-up. These findings support orbital fat decompression as a viable surgical option in pediatric patients, although they should be confirmed in larger, prospective, multicenter studies with longer follow-up.
  • Recurrent giant retroperitoneal liposarcoma: A case report. [Case Reports]
Medicine (Baltimore). 2026 Oct 02; 105(40):e50815.Tu MW, Zhu S, Zhang JBM
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case describes an exceptionally large recurrent retroperitoneal liposarcoma measuring 43 × 32 × 23 cm and weighing approximately 20 kg, with a prolonged 13-year clinical course characterized by multiple recurrences and repeated surgical resections. It demonstrates that even an extremely large recurrent tumor may remain amenable to surgical resection following comprehensive imaging evaluation and multidisciplinary planning, with appropriate preparation for possible adjacent-organ resection. Nevertheless, the development of multifocal abdominopelvic recurrence 18 months after surgery underscores the persistent risk of recurrence and the need for structured, long-term postoperative surveillance. This case contributes to the limited literature by illustrating both the feasibility and the inherent limitations of repeated surgical management for giant recurrent retroperitoneal liposarcoma.
  • Transcriptomic Features of Thyroid Signaling Disorders in Experimental Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. [Journal Article]
Bull Exp Biol Med. 2026 Sep 30. [Online ahead of print]Abramov AA, Bobylev AG, … Lakomkin VLBE
  • Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is characterized by a neurohumoral imbalance. We studied the effect of PAH on transcriptional activity in pulmonary artery preparations. In rats with PAH induced by monocrotaline (60 mg/kg), pulmonary artery preparations were isolated and whole-transcriptome RNA sequencing was performed. The enrichment score of gene collections from the Gene Ontology and KEGG…
  • RefInterval studio: development of a guided R shiny workflow for establishing discrete and age-continuous reference intervals. [Journal Article]
    Clin Chim Acta. 2026 Sep 30; 594:122862. [Online ahead of print]Chaochao M, Haoyi Z, … Ling QCC
  • CONCLUSIONS: RefInterval Studio provides an integrated, transparent, and user-friendly analytical environment primarily designed to support guideline-based direct RI workflows. By combining participant-level data preprocessing, reference-population screening, partition assessment, discrete RI estimation, and age-continuous modelling within a single workflow, the application may facilitate standardized and reproducible single-centre and multicentre direct RI studies in laboratory medicine and can be accessed at https://macc.shinyapps.io/RefIntervalStudio/.
  • Before the incision: How thyroid surgeons foster patient trust preoperatively. [Journal Article]
    Surgery. 2026 Sep 01; :110592. [Online ahead of print]Lund S, Xie S, … Pitt SCS
  • CONCLUSIONS: These results demonstrate several discrete trust-building approaches that attending surgeons used to build trust when counseling patients and inform a model for teaching trust building to trainees. While trainees already model some of these approaches, more advanced skills were not observed, identifying specific trust-building approaches as a focus for formal training.
  • Preparation and in vitro evaluation of amphotericin B-chondroitin sulfate polymer prodrug. [Journal Article]
    Pharm Dev Technol. 2026 Sep 29; :1-16. [Online ahead of print]Sun J, Yu Q, … Guo QPD
  • Amphotericin B (AmB) remains the gold-standard antifungal agent, yet its clinical utility is severely limited by dose-dependent hemolytic and nephrotoxic side effects arising from its aggregation-prone nature and non-selective membrane binding. To address this challenge, we developed a polymer prodrug by conjugating AmB to oxidized chondroitin sulfate (CSox) via a Schiff-base linkage designed to …
