- Is there a difference in ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome rates in freeze-all treatment cycles in high-risk patients treated with different GnRH agonist triggers? [Journal Article]Hum Fertil (Camb). 2026 Dec; 29(1):2733078.HF
- Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a serious complication of assisted reproductive technology (ART). Risk factors for OHSS include female age, polycystic ovarian morphology and high ovarian reserve. The use of a gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist trigger in a freeze-all cycle is an effective strategy for reducing the risk of OHSS in suspected high responders. Various GnRH ago…

- Optimizing ovarian stimulation in oocyte donation: exploratory comparison of rhFSH (2:1) versus hp-hMG under PPOS protocols. [Journal Article]JBRA Assist Reprod. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]JA
- CONCLUSIONS: In this exploratory case series, rhFSH:rhLH within PPOS demonstrated more favorable laboratory outcomes. These results generate hypotheses and support the need for further studies to confirm the observations and determine their clinical relevance in oocyte donation programs.

- The two-shot protocol. A randomized controlled trial of a novel two-injection ovarian stimulation strategy. [Journal Article]Hum Reprod. 2026 Sep 25. [Online ahead of print]HR
- CONCLUSIONS: Although the mean number of MII oocytes did not differ significantly between the two-shot protocol and the control group, non-inferiority was not statistically met.The current study focused only in elective fertility preservation women, preventing conclusions on embryological differences between the protocols. Furthermore, since the sample size was powered to detect differences in the number of MII oocytes, findings for secondary outcomes, such as the hormonal profile, should be interpreted with caution. The two-shot protocol yielded a comparable number of MII oocytes to conventional stimulation; however, the pre-specified non-inferiority margin was not met, as the CI could not exclude a true reduction exceeding 1.5 MII oocytes. The point estimate of approximately one fewer MII oocyte is unlikely to be clinically meaningful, but larger studies are required before the protocol can be formally established as non-inferior.

- Pubertal Triptorelin Exposure Alters Hypothalamic Reproductive-Metabolic Integration in a Sex-Specific Manner. [Journal Article]
- Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists are used to treat central precocious puberty and are increasingly prescribed in gender-affirming care. Despite well-established reproductive effects, their broader physiological effects during puberty remain poorly understood. Male and female Wistar rats received a depot triptorelin injection at pubertal onset. Body mass, food intake, and locomotor activity…

- Evaluation of triplet therapy combined with robot-assisted cytoreductive prostatectomy for high-volume metastatic prostate cancer: a multicentre randomised controlled trial protocol. [Journal Article]
- Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most common cancer in men. For patients with high-volume metastatic PCa (mPCa) who are fit for docetaxel, a triplet therapy regimen consisting of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), chemotherapy, and an androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPI) is recommended. Adding local radiotherapy to triplet therapy has been shown to alleviate symptoms and reduce disease …

- Development of a parsimonious predictive model for height gain outcome in children with central precocious puberty following gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist therapy. [Journal Article]Transl Pediatr. 2026 Jul 31; 15(7):284.TP
- CONCLUSIONS: The parsimonious model (M2) incorporating IGF-1 SDS and bone age advancement demonstrates robust predictive capability for height gain outcome in children with CPP receiving GnRHa therapy, comparable to the comprehensive model. This model may support early risk stratification and closer growth monitoring in selected patients; however, external validation and confirmation against final adult height outcomes are required before it can inform decisions about adjunctive interventions.

- Central Precocious Puberty and Sjogren-Larsson Syndrome in a Child: A Rare Case Report. [Case Reports]Clin Cosmet Investig Dermatol. 2026; 19:594107.CC
- Extremely rare cases show co-occurrence of Sjogren-Larsson syndrome (SLS) and central precocious puberty (CPP), and our understanding of it is still limited. In this case report, we reported a 9-year-old boy (weight: 20 kg; height: 120 cm) showing SLS and CPP simultaneously. The patient presented to our hospital with testicle enlargement and presence of pubic hair. SLS was diagnosed based on the …

- Retrospective Evaluation of Deslorelin Acetate Implant Use in Several Captive Crane Species at One Facility. [Journal Article]J Zoo Wildl Med. 2026 Jun; 57(2):365-371.JZ
- In captive cranes, chronic reproductive activity, aggression, and feather destructive behaviors are observed, and deslorelin implants have been used at the International Crane Foundation (ICF) to attempt to suppress gonadal hormone production. These sustained-release gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist implants are generally effective in suppressing gonadal activity in mammals for 12-24 mon. H…

- In vitro fertilization-frozen embryo transfer in a patient with gonadotroph adenoma: Exacerbation of ovarian hyperstimulation by triptorelin: a case report. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Our report suggests that a patient showing ovarian hyperstimulation related to an FSH-secreting adenoma may present with high PRL and estradiol levels and indicates that transsphenoidal surgery should be the first choice for treatment.

- Sterile abscesses during GnRH agonist therapy for central precocious puberty: a case series and literature review. [Case Reports]J Pediatr Endocrinol Metab. 2026 Sep 25; 39(9):926-932.JP
- CONCLUSIONS: Sterile abscesses are a rare but relevant complication of GnRHa therapy. Early recognition and exclusion of infection/allergy are key. Our experience with a patient who showed a good response to topical corticosteroids may be relevant in offering a conservative therapeutic option to treat the abscess lesion without discontinuing GnRHa therapy.

- Effect of dual trigger on pregnancy outcomes in women with diminished ovarian reserve: A single-blind randomized clinical trial. [Journal Article]Int J Reprod Biomed. 2026 Apr; 24(4):315-324.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Final oocyte maturation using a dual trigger (GnRH agonist + HCG) improves the number of good-quality embryos and can be a practical approach to enhance the efficiency of the fertilization process in infertile women with diminished ovarian reserve.

- Turning Challenges into Success: Successful Pregnancy in Advanced Maternal Age with Adenomyosis Using Prolonged GnRH Agonist Protocol: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Int J Womens Health. 2026; 18:609580.IJ
- Advanced maternal age (AMA) is a major challenge in reproductive medicine, compounded by coexisting conditions such as adenomyosis and endometriosis, which impair oocyte competence and endometrial receptivity. Prolonged gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) protocols have been proposed to improve in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) outcomes. We report the case of a 41-year-ol…

- Intravaginal GnRH analogues in rabbits: Fertirelin as the most effective option for ovulation induction. [Journal Article]Theriogenology. 2026 Oct 01; 263:117990.T
- Rabbits are reflex ovulators that require exogenous hormonal stimulation, typically a Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogue, to induce ovulation during Artificial Insemination (AI). While intramuscular injection is the reference standard, intravaginal administration via semen supplementation offers welfare advantages by reducing handling. However, this route often requires higher doses d…
