- Unsupervised clustering of undifferentiated systemic autoinflammatory diseases (USAID). [Journal Article]Eur J Intern Med. 2026 Sep 30; :107224. [Online ahead of print]EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Adult USAID patients can be subdivided into four clusters. Phenotypic stratification may help structure diagnostic reasoning and guide future therapeutic research.

- Novel cutaneous adverse effects of the increasingly prevalent glucagon-like peptide 1 agonists. [Case Reports]Skin Health Dis. 2026 Oct; 6(5):808-811.SH
- Prescribing of the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA) is rapidly increasing as their efficacy for multiple indications becomes apparent. A better understanding of their cutaneous adverse effect profile is crucial, particularly as they are suggested for use in inflammatory dermatoses. We describe two patients who developed novel cutaneous reactions associated with initiation of a …

- Association of a Han Chinese urticaria-derived polygenic risk score with chronic spontaneous urticaria susceptibility and advanced systemic treatment use. [Journal Article]J Dermatolog Treat. 2026 Dec; 37(1):2737487.JD
- CONCLUSIONS: A Han Chinese urticaria-derived PRS was associated with CSU susceptibility and advanced systemic treatment use, supporting its potential role as an adjunctive genetic risk-stratification marker in CSU.

- GeneReviews®: Primary Familial Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors [BOOK]GeneReviews®. University of Washington, Seattle: Seattle (WA).BOOK
- Primary familial gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are characterized by the presence of typically multifocal GIST that most often involve the stomach. Additional gastrointestinal (GI) manifestations can include inflammatory fibroid polyps most often in the stomach or small bowel and interstitial cell of Cajal hyperplasia occurring throughout the GI tract. Skin hyperpigmentation typically inv…
- Economic Evaluation of a Digital Psychobehavioral Intervention for Chronic Inflammatory Skin Disease (MindMySkin): Protocol for a Trial-Based Cost-Effectiveness Analysis. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: By embedding a health economic evaluation within a randomized controlled design and incorporating condition-sensitive outcome measures, this study advances methodological standards for evaluating scalable psychobehavioral interventions. Demonstrating value through disability reduction rather than survival gain may strengthen the legitimacy of low-intensity digital therapeutics within health technology assessment frameworks and inform implementation decisions in resource-constrained health systems.

- The SCF/KIT signaling pathway in multisystem diseases: Mechanisms and therapeutic targeting. [Review]Sci Prog. 2026 Jul-Sep; 109(3):368504261492893.SP
- The stem cell factor (SCF)/KIT signaling axis regulates the survival, proliferation, differentiation, and migration of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, mast cells, interstitial cells of Cajal, germ cells, and melanocytes through multiple downstream pathways, including PI3K/AKT and RAS/MAPK. Its biological and pathological effects are determined by cell lineage, ligand presentation, and mu…

- Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria and Psychiatric Symptoms: The Blood-Brain Barrier Hypothesis. [Review]
- Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a mast cell-driven inflammatory disease frequently accompanied by anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, fatigue, and impaired quality of life. Pruritus, disturbed sleep, psychosocial burden, and treatment-related effects are established contributors to this neuropsychiatric and functional burden. Whether immune-to-brain signalling provides an additional me…

- Acute Hemorrhagic Edema in Infants: A Continuing Clinical Challenge. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Aug; 18(8):e115401.C
- We report a case of acute hemorrhagic edema in a four-month-old boy, which occurred following a viral respiratory infection seven days prior to his admission. The clinical presentation began with the appearance of erythematous macules initially localized to both feet, which then spread to both thighs. All of this occurred against a background of a fever of 38.5 °C, while the child's general condi…

- The Role of Diet in the Management of Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria: A Scoping Review. [Review]
- Chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU) is a dermatologic condition characterized by recurrent wheals, angioedema, or both for more than six weeks in the absence of an identifiable trigger. It is driven by spontaneous mast cell activation and the release of inflammatory mediators in the skin. Given its poorly understood pathogenesis, significant morbidity, and limitations of available treatment modali…

- Levofloxacin-induced Ataxia in a Child After Complicated Pneumonia: A Case Report. [Journal Article]Pediatr Infect Dis J. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]PI
- A 6-year-old child with complicated necrotizing pneumonia developed acute ataxia, urticarial rash and urinary incontinence on the third day of levofloxacin therapy. No structural abnormalities were found on imaging. The antibiotic was discontinued, and corticosteroids with antihistamines were initiated, leading to complete symptom resolution without sequelae. This pediatric case underscores the n…

- Dietary Beverages and Cutaneous Health: Mechanisms, Clinical Evidence, and Practical Implications for Dermatologists. [Journal Article]Clin Dermatol. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]CD
- CONCLUSIONS: Beverage-skin associations vary substantially in evidence strength and causality. Beverage assessment can support individualized counseling as a low-risk adjunct to standard dermatological therapy, while avoiding overstatement of findings derived from observational studies, extracts, or nutraceuticals rather than beverages as consumed.

- Isolated Lip Angioedema Associated With Spironolactone: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- Spironolactone is a widely used mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist with a well-established adverse-effect profile; however, angioedema is uncommon and a poorly recognized adverse reaction. We report a case of suspected isolated lip angioedema associated with spironolactone therapy in a 74-year-old woman. The patient presented with a two-week history of persistent upper-lip swelling and facial …

- Epidermal HLA-DQB1 exerts negative regulation of mast cell activation through the TSLP-driven SPP1-expressing macrophage axis. [Journal Article]J Allergy Clin Immunol. 2026 Sep 26. [Online ahead of print]JA
- CONCLUSIONS: Epidermal HLA-DQB1/H2-Ab1 negatively regulates IgE-mediated skin inflammation by epigenetically suppressing TSLP expression, thereby restraining a TSLP-SPP1[+] macrophage-MC activation cascade. These findings reveal a novel immunoregulatory function of keratinocyte MHC-II and highlight the HLA-DQB1-TSLP-SPP1[+] macrophage axis as a potential therapeutic target in urticaria.
