  • Visco-Bits: temporal-coding-inspired viscoelastic metamaterial for mechanical memory expansion. [Journal Article]
Mater Horiz. 2026 Jul 29. [Online ahead of print]Thakkar A, Rivas-Padilla JR, Arrieta AFMH
  • Interest in mechanical computing has surged in recent years, but direct translations from digital to mechanical computation, especially in the context of von Neumann architectures, face scalability challenges. These challenges necessitate alternative strategies beyond miniaturization to enhance information density and facilitate the development of intelligent structures. Neuromorphic architecture…
  • Interplay of network architectures and ionic environments in dictating pNIPAM microgel thermoresponsiveness. [Journal Article]
Phys Chem Chem Phys. 2026 Jul 29. [Online ahead of print]Syamjith KS, Jacob ARPC
  • The utility of non-functionalized poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (pNIPAM) microgels in physiological and environmental applications is strictly dependent on their reversible thermoresponsiveness and stability in saline media. Despite their importance, a unified understanding of how network topology, specifically crosslinker concentration and crosslinking distribution regulates ionic sensitivity rema…
  • Health Care Utilization Profiles in Young Ukrainian Refugee Children. [Journal Article]
    JAMA Netw Open. 2026 Jul 01; 9(7):e2626021.Dobies B, Pedziwiatr K, Bielska IAJN
  • CONCLUSIONS: In this cohort study of pediatric Ukrainian refugees in southern Poland, distinct health care utilization patterns were observed with early reliance on hospital and emergency care followed by greater use of primary services. These findings underscore the need for refugee-hosting countries to rapidly adapt health care resources, prioritizing inpatient and emergency care in the initial months following a crisis.
  • Patterns of patient worry following major emergency abdominal surgery: a 180-day follow-up study. [Journal Article]
Eur J Trauma Emerg Surg. 2026 Jul 29; 52(1).Parner MK, Jensen LR, … Kokotovic DEJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: Patient-reported worry following major emergency abdominal surgery demonstrates meaningful variation over time. Physical worries peak during early recovery, whereas mental worry varied across timepoints. hDOW at POD 30 is associated with reduced DAOH by POD 90, highlighting the relevance of monitoring patient-reported worry during early postoperative recovery.
  • Seeking soil microbial degraders and enzymatic genes for efficient biomass recycling. [Journal Article]
Appl Biochem Biotechnol. 2026 Jul 29. [Online ahead of print]Feng WJ, Qin C, … Luo XCAB
  • Biodegradation is the most sustainable biomass recycling strategy, yet the absence of efficient microbial degraders remains a critical bottleneck. While soil microorganisms can decompose diverse biomass, their functional specificity for distinct agricultural by-products remains inadequately characterized. To address this, five agricultural by-products, including fish skin, soybean meal, shrimp sh…
  • Dentists' knowledge, skills, attitudes and barriers towards minimal intervention dentistry. [Journal Article]
Braz Oral Res. 2026; 40:e041.Moura RC, Perazzo MF, … Massignan CBO
  • This cross-sectional study evaluated the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and perceived barriers of dentists from the Federal District, Brazil, regarding Minimal Intervention Dentistry (MID). A validated online questionnaire was administered using non-probabilistic snowball sampling, and 404 dentists participated (74% female; mean professional experience: 12 ± 10.9 years). Data were analyzed using d…
  • Using artificial intelligence to analyze violence against women in São Paulo. [Journal Article]
Rev Saude Publica. 2026; 60:e28.Bandiera-Paiva P, Shimaoka AM, … Barbosa DARS
  • CONCLUSIONS: The applicability of the Health Research Standard Process for Artificial Intelligence was effective as a model for data analysis and the development of predictive algorithms in public health. It was possible to propose a replicable methodological matrix for future research and evidence-based interventions.
