- Autoimmune adrenalitis in adolescents in Germany: a series of 4 cases. [Case Reports]J Pediatr Endocrinol Metab. 2026 Oct 05. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: Our case series of autoimmune adrenalitis may suggest a potential increase in the annual incidence among adolescents. The clinical diversity of symptoms at diagnosis ranging from depression to acute kidney failure was striking. Since delayed diagnosis may lead to life-threatening complications, awareness of clinical variability is essential for physicians to achieve timely diagnosis. Cortisol levels should be routinely measured in patients with unclear fatigue and hyponatraemia.

- Ramadan fasting in patients with primary adrenal insufficiency: evaluation of the risk of complications, quality of life and sleep, and associated factors. [Journal Article]J Diabetes Metab Disord. 2026 Dec; 25(2):275.JD
- CONCLUSIONS: Ramadan fasting increased the prevalence of complications and did not impair overall QoL and QoS. Shorter disease duration and lower baseline AddiQoL GS were associated with adverse outcomes.Retrospectively registered on 'Clinical Trials' on February 28th, 2024, under the identifier:NCT06299020.

- Performance assessment of a novel fully automated ELISA for anti-IA2 autoantibody detection in type 1 diabetes. [Journal Article]Clin Chim Acta. 2026 Oct 01; :122866. [Online ahead of print]CC
- Autoantibodies to insulinoma-associated antigen 2 (IA2) are well-established biomarkers of islet autoimmunity, supporting the diagnosis and risk stratification of type 1 diabetes (T1D). This study presents the analytical and clinical evaluation of a newly developed bridge-type Anti-IA2 ELISA (Euroimmun), which is CE-marked under the European In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) and compatible wi…

- Primary adrenal lymphoma presenting as primary adrenal insufficiency. [Case Reports]BMJ Case Rep. 2026 Sep 28; 19(9).BC
- Although lymphoma may involve the adrenal glands as part of a generalised disease process, primary adrenal lymphoma is a rare entity. We present the case of a man in his late 60s who was admitted via the emergency department with clinical features consistent with adrenal failure. Initial investigations demonstrated anaemia, hypercalcaemia and adrenal insufficiency. Further biochemical work-up sho…

- [Association of vitiligo with endocrine autoimmune diseases: literature review]. [Review]
- Vitiligo is a dermatological disease characterized by focal disappearance of the melanin pigment on the skin and mucous membranes of a person. Despite the variety of proposed hypotheses for the development of this pathology, the central role belongs to the autoimmune mechanism of melanocyte damage.Analysis of the results of numerous international studies confirms a pronounced tendency towards an …

- Assessment of Physical Activity Engagement and Promotion Among Cancer Survivors in Cardio-Oncology Care: Qualitative Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: PA engagement in cardio-oncology is shaped by dynamic interactions among capability, opportunity, and motivation across survivor and medical team member contexts. Although PA is widely valued, sustained engagement remains limited due to fluctuating symptoms, environmental constraints, and clinical uncertainties. Interventions should prioritize flexible, survivor-centered approaches and incorporate supportive clinical communication and resource alignment to enhance PA across the survivorship trajectory.

- Mucocutaneous Hyperpigmentation as the Diagnostic Clue to Autoimmune Polyglandular Syndrome Type 2: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- Autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type 2 (APS-2) is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by the coexistence of primary adrenal insufficiency with autoimmune thyroid disease and/or type 1 diabetes mellitus. Because its initial manifestations are often nonspecific, diagnosis may be substantially delayed until advanced disease or adrenal crisis develops. We report the case of a 28-year-old Portu…

- Cytotoxic Lesions of the Corpus Callosum Associated With Addison's Disease: A Case Report. [Journal Article]J Pediatr Health Care. 2026 Sep 09. [Online ahead of print]JP
- Cytotoxic Lesions of the Corpus Callosum (CLOCCs) are transient splenial lesions typically triggered by infections, trauma, or metabolic disturbances. This report documents a unique case of a 13-year-old girl with CLOCCs secondary to Addison's disease, an association not previously reported. The patient initially presented with lethargy, fever, and hyperpigmentation of the skin and gingiva. Inves…

- Distinguishing clinical features of paediatric autoimmune Addison's disease and polyendocrine syndromes: a 15-year single-centre observational study from Baghdad, Iraq. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Distinguishing isolated AAD from APS may be clinically useful. Differences were observed in metabolic severity, family history, weight loss, hyperpigmentation, and risk of adrenal crisis. These findings suggest that management of both conditions may benefit from a tailored approach, emphasizing treatment adherence and infection prevention in both groups.

- Psychometric Evidence for Chronic Stress Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in African American Adults: An Equity-Focused COSMIN Systematic Review. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Psychometric gaps constrain the equitable use of chronic stress PROMs in African American adults and undermine the capacity to monitor stress-related CVD disparities. Validation studies prioritizing community-engaged content validity, responsiveness, and measurement invariance are needed to advance measurement equity for prevention.

- Associations of neighborhood deprivation with breast cancer tumor genomics, targeted treatment use, and survival. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: We found that patients with metastatic breast cancer living in high deprivation neighborhoods were more likely to have TP53 mutations, an indicator of aggressive disease biology, less likely to receive PI3K inhibitors, and had shorter overall survival compared to patients living in low deprivation neighborhoods by Area Deprivation Index.
