- This paper aims to establish a multidimensional evaluation model integrating appearance chromaticity, chemical fingerprints, and biological efficacy to scientifically quantify the processing intensity of wine-processed Angelicae Sinensis Radix and identify its processing-related quality marker(Q-marker). A colorimeter was used to digitally characterize the color evolution rule of Angelicae Sinens…

- [TCM pathogenesis of adverse reactions to molecularly targeted anti-tumor drugs in light of collateral disease theory]. [Journal Article]Zhongguo Zhong Yao Za Zhi. 2026 Sep; 51(17):5110-5116.ZZ
- Toxic and adverse reactions associated with molecularly targeted anti-tumor drugs are highly prevalent and seriously affect the patients' quality of life. Drawing upon TCM meridian-collateral theory, this paper elucidated the essentials of TCM pathogenesis of toxic and adverse reactions associated with molecularly targeted anti-tumor drugs. It postulated a core pathological theory defined as &quo…

- Dietary heme iron intake and common hemochromatosis HFE polymorphisms have similar associations with brain MRI phenotypes: a UK Biobank cohort study. [Journal Article]J Nutr. 2026 Oct 13; :101890. [Online ahead of print]JN
- CONCLUSIONS: Dietary heme iron intake and SNPs linked to hemochromatosis are associated with altered brain MRI intensities consistent with elevated brain iron.

- Dock2 deficiency compromises erythroid differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells. [Journal Article]Int Immunopharmacol. 2026 Oct 13; 190:117529. [Online ahead of print]II
- Anemia is a prevalent pathological characteristic observed in a variety of hematologic disorders, predominantly resulting from impaired red blood cell production or increased erythrocyte degradation. DOCK2, a pivotal guanine nucleotide exchange factor within the DOCK protein family, is uniquely expressed within the hematopoietic system. Previous research has established that the absence of Dock2 …

- Cerebral hemorrhage associated with snakebite by Bothrops spp. juvenile: experience of two cases in an amazonian referral hospital. [Case Reports]Rev Peru Med Exp Salud Publica. 2026 Sep 28; 43(3):408-414.RP
- Snakes of the genus Bothrops cause most snakebites in Peru. Among its complications, intracranial hemorrhage is infrequent, but potentially lethal. We describe two cases of hemoventricle after bites by juvenile specimens (<50 cm) in Loreto. The first case corresponds to a 58-year-old male with untreated arterial hypertension, who received antivenom in fractionated doses due to shortage. On the fo…

- We present a case of a woman who underwent a successful bone marrow transplant for beta-thalassemia major and later gave birth to a child who is compound heterozygous with HBB c.93-21G>A and HBB c.316-106C>G mutations to illustrate the critical gaps in reproductive risk assessment and genetic counseling. The prevalence of consanguinity, socioeconomic challenges, and the lack of a cohesive genetic…

- Pancreatic Tuberculosis Mimicking Pancreatic Cancer in a Young Immunocompetent Man: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Case Reports]Int Med Case Rep J. 2026; 19:638587.IM
- CONCLUSIONS: Pancreatic TB should be considered a differential diagnosis in pancreatic lesions, particularly in young patients from tuberculosis-endemic areas. Whenever feasible, preoperative EUS-guided FNA/FNB combined with microbiologic study may help avoid unnecessary invasive surgeries.

- Severe iron-deficiency anemia and recurrent mucosal bleeding revealing Glanzmann thrombasthenia in a young adult: a case report. [Case Reports]Ann Med Surg (Lond). 2026 Oct; 88(10):6818-6821.AM
- CONCLUSIONS: Glanzmann thrombasthenia can rarely present in adulthood and should be considered in patients with persistent isolated mucocutaneous bleeding. Early recognition allows appropriate counselling, bleeding prevention strategies, and optimized transfusion planning.

- CONCLUSIONS: Oropharyngeal leech infestation should be considered in the differential diagnosis of sudden-onset epistaxis, blood-stained saliva, and severe anemia in children from rural settings who drink unfiltered river water. Early detection and removal of the leech can be lifesaving.

- The relationship between hemoglobin concentration and mortality in patients receiving venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support: a single-center retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]J Thorac Dis. 2026 Sep 30; 18(9):1010.JT
- CONCLUSIONS: TWA-Hb <70 g/L during VV ECMO was associated with higher 60-day mortality and a lower likelihood of successful ECMO weaning. Sustained exposure to severe anemia below 70 g/L warrants particular clinical attention and should be minimized when feasible. These findings support further prospective evaluation of hemoglobin-management strategies aimed at reducing prolonged severe-anemia exposure during VV ECMO.

- Recurrent thymoma-associated PRCA with persistent agranulocytosis: a case report and therapeutic considerations. [Case Reports]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1930291.FO
- We report a case of recurrent type A thymoma accompanied by pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) and agranulocytosis. Following local recurrence after thymoma resection, the patient gradually developed anemia and leukopenia as the lesion progressed; bone marrow examination showed marked suppression of erythropoiesis and reduced granulopoiesis. Taken together with the peripheral blood findings, these resu…

He was found to have acute kidney injury, acute coronary syndrome, thrombocytopenia, and Coombs-negative hemolytic anemia, raising concern for thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). While awaiting confirmatory testing, empirical plasma exchange was initiated. Initially, minimal red blood cell fragmentation was observed, which la…
