- Guselkumab as a therapeutic option for recalcitrant pyoderma gangrenosum and Crohn disease: a case report and review of the literature. [Case Reports]Skin Health Dis. 2026 Oct; 6(5):812-815.SH
- Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare, chronic neutrophilic dermatosis characterized by rapidly progressive, painful ulcers. It is frequently associated with systemic inflammatory conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease. The pathogenesis remains incompletely understood, and treatment of refractory cases poses a significant challenge. We present a 26-year-old woman diagnosed with PG, initially…

- Efficacy and safety of spesolimab in resistant pyoderma gangrenosum: a case report and brief review of the literature. [Case Reports]Skin Health Dis. 2026 Oct; 6(5):816-820.SH
- Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare neutrophilic dermatosis characterized by rapidly progressive painful ulcers, and increasing evidence supports a role for the interleukin-36 pathway in its pathogenesis. We report the case of a 59-year-old woman with idiopathic refractory PG that evolved over 8 years. The patient had an insufficient response to prolonged systemic corticosteroids and azathioprine…

- Upadacitinib for Acute Severe Ulcerative Colitis: Real-World Tertiary Care Outcomes. [Journal Article]Digestion. 2026 Sep 29; :1. [Online ahead of print]D
- Background Acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) affects up to 25% of patients with ulcerative colitis. Despite intravenous (IV) corticosteroids as first-line therapy, 30-40% require rescue treatment and up to 40% undergo colectomy within one year. Upadacitinib (UPA) has shown ability to induce rapid response in moderate-severe UC, but real-world data in ASUC remain limited. We aimed to describe…

- Systemic lupus erythematosus complicated by refractory Mycobacterium avium complex infection involving bilateral lower extremities: a case report and literature review. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Disseminated MAC osteomyelitis can occur in SLE patients under sustained immunosuppression even during disease remission. mNGS enables rapid pathogen identification and is crucial for diagnosing complicated infections. Management requires combined surgical debridement, prolonged antimycobacterial therapy, and multidisciplinary care.

- Successful treatment of recalcitrant pemphigus vulgaris with cold argon plasma. [Case Reports]Acta Dermatovenerol Alp Pannonica Adriat. 2026 Sep 27; :actaapa.2026.26. [Online ahead of print]AD
- Pemphigus vulgaris is a severe autoimmune blistering disease that occasionally develops lesions refractory to conventional systemic immunosuppressive therapy. We report the first documented case of successful treatment of therapy-resistant pemphigus vulgaris using cold atmospheric plasma. A 34-year-old woman presented with extensive oral and genital erosions that dramatically improved after initi…
- Successful Use of Adalimumab Monotherapy in Managing Idiopathic Retinal Vasculitis, Aneurysms, and Neuroretinitis (IRVAN) Syndrome. [Journal Article]Ocul Immunol Inflamm. 2026 Sep 25; :1-6. [Online ahead of print]OI
- CONCLUSIONS: In this single case report, adalimumab monotherapy was associated with control of IRVAN syndrome, including improvement in vascular leakage and aneurysmal dilatations. The recurrence of aneurysms upon dose tapering and improvement after resuming biweekly dosing suggest a possible therapeutic effect on aneurysm control and the potential need for sustained treatment. Further studies are needed to determine the generalizability of these findings.

- Recurrent Hypokalemic Paralysis as the Initial Presentation of Primary Sjögren's Syndrome. [Case Reports]
- Distal renal tubular acidosis (dRTA) is associated with autoimmune disorders, particularly Sjögren's syndrome. Hypokalemic muscle weakness due to dRTA is an uncommon presentation of Sjögren's syndrome and may mimic primary hypokalemic periodic paralysis, resulting in a diagnostic delay. We present the case of a 35-year-old woman who reported recurrent limb weakness in the presence of hypokalemia …

- Current concepts in the diagnosis and treatment of hypersensitivity pneumonitis: a narrative review. [Review]
- Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) is an interstitial lung disease triggered by inhalation of a variety of environmental antigens. HP ranges from acute manifestations to progressive fibrosis and can be classified as nonfibrotic or fibrotic based on imaging and histopathological features. The pathophysiological mechanism of HP involves an exaggerated immune cell response and, in chronic stages, fib…

- Very Late-Onset Myasthenia Gravis in a Very Elderly Patient: Diagnostic Challenges and Importance of Early Recognition. [Case Reports]
- Background: Myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disorder of the neuromuscular junction characterized by fluctuating skeletal muscle weakness. Late-onset MG (onset ≥ 50 and <65 years) and very late-onset MG (VLOMG; onset ≥ 65 years) are increasingly recognized subgroups, and diagnosis in very elderly patients remains challenging because symptoms frequently overlap with age-related conditions and co…
