  • Effect of Shear-Induced Macrophage Secretome on Endothelial Permeability. [Journal Article]
    Ann Thorac Surg. 2026 Oct 08. [Online ahead of print]Jui E, Kingsley G, … Grande-Allen KJAT
  • CONCLUSIONS: Overall, pathological shear stress induced macrophages to secrete factors that increased endothelial permeability and perpetuated an inflammatory response. This interaction likely exacerbates fibrosis in DSS, promoting recurrence post-surgery. Understanding these mechanisms opens potential therapeutic avenues targeting inflammatory crosstalk between macrophages and endothelial cells, which could mitigate fibrosis and improve patient outcomes.
  • Stylized Sketch Synthesis Using Diffusion Priors and Structural Guidance. [Journal Article]

  • Translating an image into a reference style is a widely studied problem. Sketches, as a family of highly abstract styles, are usually difficult to synthesize under general image stylization frameworks. A major challenge is that the reference style image could be semantically irrelevant to the content image. Based on recent advances in image stylization using diffusion models, we propose a novel s…
  • Mast Cells Regulate Epithelial Barrier Integrity and Myeloid Immune Responses in Experimental Colitis. [Journal Article]
    Eur J Immunol. 2026 Oct; 56(10):e70292.Carnevale A, Marangio C, … Paolini REJ
  • Mast cells (MCs) are increasingly recognized as modulators of intestinal homeostasis and inflammation; however, their precise contribution during colitis remains incompletely defined. Here, we investigated the role of MCs in dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis using a Kit-independent MC-deficient model (Cpa3-Cre; Mcl1fl/fl), in which selective deletion of the anti-apoptotic gene Mcl1 abl…
  • Outcomes after first recurrence of Merkel cell carcinoma: A retrospective cohort of 159 patients. [Journal Article]
    Ann Dermatol Venereol. 2026 Oct 07; 153(4):103528. [Online ahead of print]Coquelle C, David C, … Samimi MAD
  • CONCLUSIONS: Immunosuppression, early recurrence, and distant recurrence are associated with poor prognosis after first recurrence of MCC, whereas radiotherapy administered at recurrence is associated with improved survival. Although immune checkpoint inhibitors did not retain an independent prognostic impact in multivariable analysis, univariate findings suggest a potential survival benefit in selected patients receiving systemic therapy.
