  • Sustained Ion Imbalances Enhance Ferroptosis. [Journal Article]
bioRxiv. 2026 Oct 01.Sonay AY, Apfelbaum E, … Grimm JB
  • Ferroptosis has attracted significant attention for its potential to treat drug resistant tumors, along with its role in neurodegeneration and ischemia. Several ferroptosis targets were identified in the past decade, yet it is also highly affected by cellular metabolism and epithelial or mesenchymal phenotypes which limits the utility of these targets across diverse cell and tissue types. To addr…
  • Effectiveness of different methods of feticide: systematic review and meta-analysis. [Review]
Ultrasound Obstet Gynecol. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]Sorrenti S, Sacco A, … Navaratnam KUO
  • CONCLUSIONS: Feticide is an important procedure to induce asystole prior to TOP. Point estimates from the meta-analysis indicate that the most effective feticidal method is intracardiac KCl. Effectiveness should be considered alongside safety and feasibility when deciding on appropriate methods for different settings. © 2026 The Author(s). • When microbial drug metabolism becomes a drug disposition variable. [Review]
Drug Metab Dispos. 2026 Sep 11; 54(10):100407. [Online ahead of print]Lewandowski RDM
  • Microbial transformation of drugs is experimentally established, but no agreed method determines when a detected pathway materially contributes to drug disposition. This minireview proposes a 5-gate framework for evaluating microbial metabolism as a source of drug-disposition variability. Evaluation begins by asking whether drug-related material reaches a microbial compartment, whether a defined …
  • In-situ surfactant-functionalized magnetic SBA-15 for the efficient extraction of cardiac glycosides in human plasma. [Journal Article]
J Chromatogr B Analyt Technol Biomed Life Sci. 2026 Sep 23; 1284:125316. [Online ahead of print]Wang RQ, Chen J, … Hu SJC
  • A novel method of in-situ functionalized magnetic dispersive solid phase microextraction was established and coupled with high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection to determine four cardiac glycosides in human plasma. The adsorbent was prepared by in-situ functionalization of Fe3O4/SBA-15 with surfactant during the extraction process. The synthesized material was characterized …
