- Men's Experiences and Decision-Making in Erectile Dysfunction Treatment: A Qualitative Evidence Synthesis. [Review]Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e111413.C
- This paper presents a qualitative evidence synthesis investigating men's clinical experiences, psychosocial challenges, and decision-making related to help-seeking and treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED). The findings suggest that ED affects relationship experiences, self-esteem, psychosocial well-being, and help-seeking behaviors. Studies identified through Scopus, PubMed, and PsycINFO were …

- Sacral neurostimulation of penile erection: advancing intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring during pelvic surgeries-a narrative review. [Review]Ther Adv Urol. 2026 Jan-Dec; 18:17562872261468106.TA
- Demand has increased in recent years to develop and implement strategic approaches for improving functional outcomes following pelvic surgery. Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring represents one such possible approach for this field. It involves generating neuronal activity within the nerve supply of pelvic organs and structures, conventionally using an external electrical current, and co…

- Magnesium depletion score and erectile dysfunction: A cross-sectional and Mendelian randomization study. [Journal Article]Medicine (Baltimore). 2026 Jul 24; 105(30):e49938.M
- Erectile dysfunction (ED) is closely linked to vascular and metabolic disorders. Magnesium plays a crucial role in endothelial function, inflammation, and metabolism, but the relevance of chronic magnesium depletion to ED remains unclear. The magnesium depletion score (MDS) is a practical marker of long-term magnesium loss. This study examined the association between MDS and ED in United States a…

- circRNA_013145‑miR‑185‑5p‑RhoA axis: A novel mechanism in the pathophysiology of diabetes‑induced erectile dysfunction. [Journal Article]Int J Mol Med. 2026 Oct; 58(4).IJ
- Diabetes mellitus‑induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is a common diabetic complication characterized by endothelial dysfunction and corpus cavernosum (CC) remodeling. Although circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been implicated in diabetic vascular diseases, their roles in DMED remain largely unknown. The present study investigated the biological function and underlying mechanism of circRNA_013145 in …

- [Impact of thulium laser enucleation of the prostate versus transurethral resection of the prostate on sexual function in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia: A retrospective cohort study]. [Journal Article]Beijing Da Xue Xue Bao Yi Xue Ban. 2026 Aug 18; 58(4):762-769.BD
- CONCLUSIONS: While both ThuLEP and TURP effectively alleviate lower urinary tract symptoms and improve voiding parameters, ThuLEP offers distinct advantages in safeguarding erectile potency and facilitating accelerated postoperative recovery.
- Successful Treatment of Glans Tumescence Dysfunction Caused by Abnormal Venous Communication Between the Great Saphenous Vein and the Deep Dorsal Vein: A Case Report. [Journal Article]Case Rep Urol. 2026; 2026:6933520.CR
- CONCLUSIONS: The patient reported complete restoration of glans tumescence at 1 month, sustained at 1 year, with improvement of the International Index of Erectile Function-5 score from 18 to 23. This case highlights the diagnostic value of cavernosography in selected patients with discordant findings between shaft rigidity and glans engorgement and suggests that targeted surgical correction may be effective when a highly localized venous shunt is identified.

- Low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy as a preventive and restorative strategy in men's health: recent advances and future directions from an Asian perspective. [Journal Article]Curr Opin Urol. 2026 Jul 23. [Online ahead of print]CO
- CONCLUSIONS: Li-ESWT is undergoing a conceptual transition from symptomatic rescue therapy toward earlier biological intervention aimed at preserving endothelial, neural, and tissue integrity before irreversible dysfunction develops. Asian centres continue to play a pivotal role in elucidating mechanisms of action, driving clinical adoption, and advancing translational innovation in regenerative men's health. However, significant challenges remain, including protocol heterogeneity, device variability, limited long-term outcome data, and uncertainty regarding cost-effectiveness.

- Impairment in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis in males with medullary thyroid carcinoma treated with selpercatinib. [Journal Article]J Clin Endocrinol Metab. 2026 Jul 23. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: ED shows high prevalence and early onset in males with MTC treated with selpercatinib. Impairment in the HPG axis and semen analysis can reflect damage to Sertoli and Leydig cells, leading to hypogonadism. Therefore, HPG axis evaluation and fertility counseling could be advisable mainly in childbearing males before starting selpercatinib.

- Ketamine abuse also affects sexual health. [Journal Article]Sex Med. 2026 Oct; 14(5):qfag049.SM
- Recreational ketamine use is rapidly increasing, and ketamine-induced uropathy (KIU) is gaining recognition for its severe impact on quality of life (QoL), including pain, hematuria, lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), and potential negative effects on sexual function. This study investigates the prevalence of sexual dysfunction among men with KIU.

- Anaesthetic management of magnetic resonance imaging-guided transurethral ultrasound ablation of the prostate of a patient with prostatic adenocarcinoma. [Case Reports]BMJ Case Rep. 2026 Jul 21; 19(7).BC
- Transurethral ultrasound ablation (TULSA) of the prostate is an innovative, minimally invasive, incision- and radiation-free procedure guided by MRI. Early clinical data suggest TULSA is associated with lower rates of common postoperative complications including urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction. Its minimally invasive profile makes it especially suitable for elderly patients and thos…
