- Inhibition of WNT signaling sensitizes CRC cells to anti-tumor effects of retinoids: basis for new drug combinations in oncology. [Journal Article]Cancer Biol Ther. 2026 Dec 31; 27(1):2732738.CB
- Our Goal is to sensitize human colorectal cancer (CRC) to the differentiation-inducing effects of retinoic acid (RA) agents by suppressing WNT signaling. Previously, we reported that the WNT and RA pathways are functionally linked, and in CRC, APC mutation generates a WNT:RA imbalance leading to incomplete differentiation and stem cell (SC) overpopulation. Hypothesis: Therapeutically inhibiting W…

- Detection of previous knee injuries using lower limb-worn inertial measurement units: A cross-sectional machine-learning study. [Journal Article]Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]KS
- CONCLUSIONS: As a proof of concept, IMU-derived features distinguished individuals with previous knee injury at high specificity but limited sensitivity. High specificity and PPV depend on the classification threshold and injury prevalence in this selected sample, not intrinsic model properties. Because predictors were not aligned to the injured side, findings cannot be interpreted biomechanically. Potential applications (e.g., targeted monitoring) require prospective external validation.

- Holistically benchmarked optimization-assisted green spectrophotometric-chemometric approach for simultaneous determination of piroxicam and venlafaxine in pharmaceutical formulations and spiked human plasma. [Journal Article]
- The recent clinical introduction of the piroxicam (PIR) and venlafaxine hydrochloride (VEN) combination has highlighted the need for analytical methodologies capable of simultaneously quantifying both drugs while minimizing the environmental burden of routine pharmaceutical analysis. To date, only a chromatographic method has been reported for this purpose, which is associated with relatively hig…

- Sorafenib/piroxicam therapy with biomarker-defined survival benefit in canine muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma. [Journal Article]
- Molecular-targeted therapies require biomarker-driven evaluation to optimize precision oncology strategies; however, translational models integrating clinical outcomes with mechanistic biomarkers are limited. Canine urothelial carcinoma shares molecular features with human muscle-invasive bladder cancer, including activation of VEGFR signaling, providing a valuable comparative oncology platform. …

- A Model of Piroxicam-Accelerated Enterocolitis in Interleukin-10 Knockout Mice for Studying Inflammation-Induced Metabolic Alterations. [Journal Article]J Vis Exp. 2026 Aug 11; (234).JV
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the digestive tract affecting over 10 million individuals globally. While substantial research has focused on the immunologic mechanisms and consequences underlying IBD, less is understood about how mucosal inflammation contributes to metabolic dysregulation, including weight loss and reduced appetite. Here, the authors descri…

- Evaluation of anti-arthritic activity of aripiprazole through multi models: new potential of an old drug. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Above stated results strongly claims that aripiprazole is an effective anti-arthritic therapy as verified through molecular docking, in-vitro and in-vivo assessment and via down regulating pro-inflammatory markers and up regulation of anti-inflammatory cytokines and can be thought to be an appropriate option to repurpose the drug as anti-arthritic agent.

- Comparing the Effect of Subcutaneous and Intradermal Mesotherapy on Pain and Function in Knee Osteoarthritis: A Randomized Clinical Trial : Short title: Subcutaneous vs. Intradermal Mesotherapy in Knee Osteoarthritis. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Both subcutaneous and intradermal mesotherapy appeared to be effective short-term treatments for patients with KOA. However, intradermal mesotherapy demonstrated greater effectiveness at the one-month follow-up, with superior pain reduction and functional improvement compared with subcutaneous mesotherapy.

- Sabinene attenuates inflammation and oxidative stress in CFA-induced arthritis: In vivo and in silico evidence implicating TLR4/NLRP3/NF-κB signaling. [Journal Article]Biomol Biomed. 2026 Aug 14. [Online ahead of print]BB
- Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic immune-mediated disease in which persistent inflammation and oxidative stress contribute to progressive joint damage. This study evaluated the prophylactic effects of sabinene in complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritis and explored potential molecular associations using integrated in vivo and computational approaches. Rats were allocated to vehicl…

- Oral Retinol, Alone or Combined with Medical Photoprotection, in Patients with Actinic Keratosis: A Randomized, Open-Label, Prospective, Multicentric Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Oral retinol combined with medical photoprotection was associated with earlier and greater improvements than oral retinol alone or standard photoprotection recommendations. These findings support further controlled studies to confirm efficacy and clarify the contribution of each intervention.

- Comparative effects of topically applied diclofenac, ketoprofen, and piroxicam on interleukin-17, signal transducer and activator of transcription 3, and prostaglandin E2 levels in a rat model of collagen-induced arthritis. [Journal Article]Med Glas (Zenica). 2026 Aug 07; 23(2).MG
- CONCLUSIONS: Topical NSAIDs demonstrated selective anti-inflammatory effects, primarily through significant suppression of tissue PGE2, confirming effective local COX pathway inhibition. The absence of significant changes in IL-17 and STAT3 suggests that short-term topical therapy mainly targets prostaglandin-mediated inflammation rather than upstream cytokine or transcriptional pathways involved in rheumatoid arthritis pathogenesis, warranting further investigation into their long-term therapeutic benefits.

- Piroxicam accelerates diabetic foot ulcer healing via ERα-dependent mitochondrial protection and oxidative stress relief. [Journal Article]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1834818.FP
- The pathology of diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is characterized by keratinocyte dysfunction, non-resolving inflammation, and oxidative stress. We aim to investigate the effects and mechanisms of piroxicam on DFU healing through regulating mitochondrial function and suppressing inflammation.

- Protective Effects of Geraniol in Rheumatoid Arthritis Through Attenuation of Inflammation and Oxidative Stress. [Journal Article]Endocr Metab Immune Disord Drug Targets. 2026; 26:e18715303471859.EM
- CONCLUSIONS: Geraniol pretreatment was associated with reduced severity of arthritis, lower inflammatory cytokine mRNA expression, and improved oxidative stress markers in an FCA-induced rat model. These findings reflect effects on disease development in a pretreatment (pre-induction) experimental model and do not represent therapeutic efficacy in established rheumatoid arthritis. Further studies using post-induction treatment designs are required to evaluate potential therapeutic relevance.
