- Small RNA Sequencing Reveals Dynamic Expression Profiles and Regulatory Network of miRNAs During Testis Development of Macrobrachium rosenbergii. [Journal Article]
- Aquaculture of the giant river prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii faces ongoing challenges associated with aberrant gonadal development, precocious puberty and inefficient sex manipulation techniques. Although microRNAs (miRNAs) serve as critical regulators of spermatogenesis across diverse taxa, their roles in modulating testicular development of M. rosenbergii remain largely uncharacterized. In th…

- Scoliosis Induction in the Porcine Spine Using a Growth-Modulating Posterior Tether: Finite Element Model Development and Calibration. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Image-based FEMs estimated vertebral stress-growth relationships and reproduced deformity with comparable Cobb angle error to an existing parametric FE model (current 2.5 ± 1.6° vs. reported ~ 2.0 ± 2.4° in a single-pig matched comparison) with realistic baseline IVD stresses (current ~ 0.45 MPa vs. reported 0.48 MPa in the growth plate). With expanded validation, such models may support preclinical evaluation of implant designs and surgical configurations prior to in vivo testing.

- An integrated experimental-deterministic photon transport framework for radiation dosimetry: Application to naturally occurring radioactive building materials. [Journal Article]Appl Radiat Isot. 2026 Sep 21; 239:112943. [Online ahead of print]AR
- Conventional radiological assessment of building materials predominantly relies on empirical hazard indices that provide screening information but do not explicitly describe photon transport within finite material geometries. This study presents an integrated experimental and deterministic modelling framework for evaluating 17 naturally occurring radioactive building materials collected in Katsin…

- MRI-guided personalized tDCS planning for target engagement of the swallowing motor cortex after stroke: a finite-element modeling study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: MRI-guided personalized tDCS planning improved modeled EF delivery to the cortical swallowing target and revealed significant deviations from conventional C5/C6 placement in patients with severe PSD. These findings support image-guided target engagement as a framework for precision neuromodulation in PSD, while prospective physiological and clinical validation is required before therapeutic efficacy can be inferred.

- Knowledge, training and clinical practice related to female genital mutilation/cutting among healthcare professionals in Austria: a cross-sectional online survey. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Substantial, profession-specific gaps in knowledge and training on FGM/C exist among healthcare professionals in Austria. Despite increasing availability of specialised services, insufficient integration of FGM/C into professional education may hinder effective prevention, identification and care. Targeted and systematic training, particularly for paediatricians and general practitioners, alongside national clinical guidelines may strengthen healthcare responses to FGM/C in Austria.

- Spurious-Mode Suppression in Sc0.2Al0.8N Film Lamb Wave Resonators and Filters with Arc-Shaped Apodization. [Journal Article]
- Lamb wave devices have the advantage of monolithic multi-frequency integration and show great application potential in mobile communications. However, their performance is often limited by spurious modes. In this work, an arc-shaped apodization electrode structure is proposed to suppress spurious modes in Sc0.2Al0.8N Lamb wave resonators (LWRs). By shortening the overlap length of the interdigita…

- μFlow: A Computational Platform for Microfluidic Hall-Effect Magnetic Bead Detection with Parametric Design Optimization. [Journal Article]
- Microfluidic Hall-effect biosensors detect superparamagnetic bead labels as they flow past a thin-film Hall element in a microchannel. Designing one couples bead magnetization, stray-field distribution, Hall transport, and channel flow across 14 parameters that finite-element solvers explore only at minutes to hours per configuration. We present a coupled analytical-numerical framework for this s…
