- A Case Series of Raynaud's Phenomenon in the Setting of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors. [Case Reports]
- Although immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have improved oncological outcomes, they can cause a myriad of inflammatory conditions known as immune-related adverse events (irAEs). Raynaud's phenomenon (RP) is a rare rheumatologic irAE that may arise de novo or present as an exacerbation of preexisting disease. This case series aims to describe ICI-induced RP in patients without a rheumatological …

- Intraoperative Continuous Kidney Replacement Therapy With Regional Epoprostenol Anticoagulation During Liver Transplantation in a Child With Severe Gastrointestinal Bleeding. [Case Reports]Pediatr Transplant. 2026 Sep; 30(9):e70469.PT
- CONCLUSIONS: IO-CKRT effectively achieves fluid and metabolic balance during LT in pediatric patients with AKI, fluid overload, and metabolic issues. Epoprostenol proves to be a safe and effective regional anticoagulation option for CKRT in bleeding patients undergoing LT, preventing site bleeding without systemic complications. This case highlights a unique and important application that warrants further investigation into its broader effectiveness and potential complications in this vulnerable patient population.

- The clinical benefit of prostacyclin treatment in mechanically ventilated patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection is not attributed to anti-inflammatory effects. [Randomized Controlled Trial]Cytokine. 2026 Nov; 207:157207.C
- CONCLUSIONS: In mechanically ventilated patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection and endotheliopathy, iloprost treatment had no detectable effect on inflammatory and T-cell-derived cytokine and growth-factor responses. The findings corroborate that the clinical benefit of iloprost is not attributed to anti-inflammatory effects. We suggest that future studies focus on patient selection for targeted treatment, and on combined treatment with anti-inflammatory and endothelium-stabilizing interventions, in patients with respiratory failure, hyperinflammation, and endotheliopathy.

- Real-World Experience of Midodrine in Hospital Setting in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. [Journal Article]
- Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a progressive disease, is characterized by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) and leads to right ventricular failure and premature death. PAH therapies aim to reduce PVR; however, these treatments as vasodilators may also result in reduced systemic vascular resistance and mean arterial pressure (MAP), leading to clinical or symptomatic hypotension…

- The Silent Threat: Unmasking Combined Post- and Pre-capillary Pulmonary Hypertension (CpcPH) in an Elderly Patient With Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF). [Case Reports]
- Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a progressive disorder associated with substantial morbidity and mortality, and its diagnosis may be delayed in older adults with multiple cardiopulmonary comorbidities because symptoms frequently overlap with more common cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions. Combined post- and pre-capillary pulmonary hypertension (CpcPH) is a severe phenotype characterized by pu…

- Women in healthy transition deep phenotyping cohort study protocol (KiSO-DP): a within-participant multidisciplinary longitudinal cohort study across the menopausal transition. [Journal Article]
- Cardiovascular disease risk accelerates in women after the menopausal transition, coinciding with the cessation of endogenous oestrogen production. The accompanying decline in vascular function is considered a key driver of this shift. However, longitudinal studies investigating the impact and time course of changes in cardiovascular and skeletal muscle function during the menopausal transition a…

- Transitions From Parenteral Prostacyclin Analogues to Selexipag in Patients With Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. [Journal Article]
- Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a progressive illness that may require therapy with parenteral prostacyclin pathway agents (PPA) (epoprostenol and treprostinil). These parenteral PPA's are continuous ambulatory infusions that require a high level of skill and knowledge to maintain safety and effectiveness. Depending on the clinical context, transition to oral prostacyclin receptor agonis…

- Beraprost Attenuates Starvation-Induced Apoptosis and Protects Feline Endothelial Cells. [Journal Article]Vet Med Sci. 2026 Sep; 12(5):e71127.VM
- CONCLUSIONS: Beraprost effectively attenuates starvation-induced apoptosis-associated events in cultured immortalized feline aortic endothelial cells, inhibits caspase-3/7 activity, and modulates Bax expression. These findings suggest a potential hypothesized mechanism that may contribute to the clinical efficacy of beraprost observed in feline CKD, although further validation using renal endothelial cells and in vivo models is required.

- Small molecule inhibitor of orphan GPCR dimerization improves host defense and blood pressure control in mice. [Journal Article]J Clin Invest. 2026 Aug 03; 136(15).JCI
- Orphan GPCRs of the GPRC5 family regulate macrophage activity and vascular contractility by dimerizing with other GPCRs, but pharmacological modulation of this process has not been explored. We previously identified the dimerization interface of receptor GPRC5B and show here that both its mutation and inhibition by a decoy peptide disturbed the interaction with the prostaglandin E2 receptor EP2 i…
