- Actinomycetota-Derived Metabolites in Pancreatic Cancer: Chemical Diversity, Metabolic Vulnerability, and Translational Barriers. [Review]Curr Oncol Rep. 2026 Oct 14; 28(1).CO
- Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma remains among the deadliest malignancies worldwide, and effective therapies are still lacking. Actinomycetota are among the richest microbial sources of bioactive secondary metabolites, and three agents in clinical use against pancreatic malignancy derive from them - streptozotocin, everolimus and doxorubicin - though all three are indicated for neuroendocrine rat…

- Durable Response to Vebreltinib in Heavily Pretreated MET-Amplified Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma: A Case Report. [Journal Article]Oncologist. 2026 Oct 13. [Online ahead of print]O
- CONCLUSIONS: To our knowledge, this is the first report of vebreltinib monotherapy inducing a deep and durable partial response in heavily pretreated, MET-amplified ICC, with the response lasting over six months despite eventual disease progression. This case underscores the critical value of comprehensive molecular profiling after first-line treatment failure to identify actionable drivers such as MET amplification.

- MSC-derived exosomes co-delivering anti-miR-221 and gemcitabine for inhibiting the proliferation of pancreatic cancer. [Journal Article]J Transl Med. 2026 Aug 26; 24(1).JT
- CONCLUSIONS: Exosomes derived from MSCs and co-loaded with anti-miR-221 and Gemcitabine significantly inhibit the proliferation of pancreatic cancer. This combined antitumor effect is superior to that of exo-221, exo-Gem, or Gemcitabine monotherapy. Furthermore, this approach demonstrates low liver and kidney toxicity, suggesting it may be a safe and effective method for treating pancreatic cancer.

- CD11b agonist GB1275 potentiates oncolytic bacterial therapy against pancreatic cancer in mouse tumor models. [Journal Article]Nat Commun. 2026 Aug 21; 17(1).NC
- Oncolytic bacteria are microorganisms with cytotoxic activity capable of lysing cancer cells while simultaneously activating both innate and adaptive immune responses to exert anti-tumor effects. However, the innate immune activation targeting oncolytic bacteria within the tumor microenvironment (TME) is a limiting factor. Here we find that the CD11b-targeting agonist GB1275 can modulate bacteria…

- CONCLUSIONS: In this multi-institutional prospective study, intravesical Gem/Doce demonstrated favorable intermediate oncological outcomes for BCG-unresponsive NMIBC. Gem/Doce was well tolerated with few reported side effects and preserved PROs.

- CONCLUSIONS: PAG attenuated human bladder cancer cell proliferation and migration, enhanced the cytotoxic effects of GEM, and was associated with reduced tumour growth when combined with GEM and BCG. Our findings warrant further investigation of targeting H2S-producing enzymes and intracellular H2S production as a novel pharmacological approach to enhance the cytotoxic effects of GEM in the treatment of NMIBC.

- An integrative multi-omics modeling framework for chemotherapy response prediction through microRNA-target regulatory signatures. [Journal Article]Brief Bioinform. 2026 Sep 01; 27(5).BB
- Chemotherapy remains a cornerstone of cancer treatment, yet therapeutic resistance continues to limit durable clinical responses. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are key post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression that orchestrate diverse cellular processes implicated in drug sensitivity and resistance. However, the contribution of miRNA regulatory networks to chemotherapy response has not been systema…

- Exceptionally Durable Response to First-Line S-1 Monotherapy in Metastatic Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- Pancreatic adenocarcinoma with distant metastases is associated with a poor prognosis, and exceptionally durable responses to systemic chemotherapy are uncommon. We report a rare case of pancreatic adenocarcinoma with radiologically suspected multiple liver metastases that achieved a prolonged response to first-line tegafur/gimeracil/oteracil (S-1) monotherapy. A 76-year-old man with a history of…

- Efficacy and toxicities of modified FOLFIRINOX versus gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel as first-line chemotherapy for unresectable pancreatic cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: GnP was associated with more favorable OS and PFS than mFFX, a borderline DCR advantage, and distinct toxicity profiles. Given the modest effect size and the limitations of this study, clinical decision-making should integrate patient age, performance status, and anticipated second-line therapy.

- Systemic therapy for biliary tract cancer (BTC) has evolved substantially over the past two decades. Gemcitabine plus cisplatin was established as the global standard first-line regimen, followed by further optimization through alternative doublets, intensified triplet chemotherapy, and the recent introduction of immune checkpoint inhibitor-based combinations. In Japan, pivotal clinical trials ha…

- CONCLUSIONS: Neoadjuvant tislelizumab plus gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel is promising for improving the resection rate in BRPC, with a favorable safety profile. NT5DC2, FAM3D, CXCL5, and TMT1B may serve as candidate biomarkers of preoperative drug resistance, and tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) analysis further reveals immune microenvironment remodeling in postoperative tumors from treatment-sensitive patients. These findings warrant validation in larger-scale studies. Trial Registration Chinese Clinical Trial registry (ChiCTR2200063680).

- CONCLUSIONS: The survival benefit of (m)FOLFIRINOX observed in the clinical trial setting was not observed in our real-world cohort, not even in the selected subset of patients who would have deemed eligible for inclusion in the PRODIGE 24/CCTG PA.6- trial. Survival was not different for patients treated with (m)FOLFIRINOX and gemcitabine combination therapy.
