- Personalized prediction of sequential therapeutic responses in HR+/HER2-low breast cancer using patient-derived organoids. [Journal Article]Transl Cancer Res. 2026 Sep 30; 15(9):689.TC
- CONCLUSIONS: The sequence of DS-8201/SG followed by fulvestrant is a more suitable treatment regimen than the conventional sequence (fulvestrant followed by ADCs) for HR+/HER2-low breast cancer. This study provides important preclinical evidence supporting the optimization of therapy sequences in personalized medicine and advances the application of organoid-based models in oncology research.

- Relative change rate of neutrophil-to-albumin ratio (ΔNAR) during neoadjuvant chemotherapy predicts axillary pathological complete response in locally advanced breast cancer. [Journal Article]Gland Surg. 2026 Sep 30; 15(9):262.GS
- CONCLUSIONS: ΔNAR acts as an independent biomarker for axillary pCR in locally advanced breast cancer. Patients with ΔNAR above -19.29% have lower odds of axillary pathological remission. Derived from routine blood tests at no extra cost, ΔNAR assists clinicians in preoperative prediction of axillary tumor regression and aids therapeuticplan optimization. Its utility for tailoring surgical plans remains to be further validated.

- Surgical resection for indeterminate pulmonary nodules in patients with prior breast cancer: diagnostic value and biomarker reassessment. [Journal Article]J Thorac Dis. 2026 Sep 30; 18(9):1046.JT
- CONCLUSIONS: Surgical resection for indeterminate pulmonary nodules in selected patients with prior breast cancer provides definitive pathological diagnosis, appropriate local treatment, and sufficient tissue for biomarker reassessment. Histological confirmation should be considered when imaging findings remain inconclusive because pulmonary nodules in breast cancer survivors are not necessarily metastatic disease. Biomarker reassessment may directly influence individualized systemic treatment strategies in the HER2-low era.

- ESR1 alterations in breast cancer: Mechanisms, detection, and therapeutic implications. [Journal Article]Chin Med J (Engl). 2026 Oct 12. [Online ahead of print]CM
- Endocrine therapy plays a central role in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer, but acquired resistance remains a major clinical challenge. Increasing evidence suggests that ESR1 alterations are key molecular events that maintain estrogen receptor (ER) signaling and drive endocrine treatment failure. In this review, we summarize the biological basis of ESR1/ERα signaling…

- Synaptic connectome of a neurosecretory network in the Drosophila brain. [Journal Article]Elife. 2026 Oct 12; 13.E
- Hormones mediate inter-organ signaling, which is crucial in orchestrating diverse behaviors and physiological processes, including sleep and activity, feeding, growth, metabolism, and reproduction. The pars intercerebralis and pars lateralis in insects represent major hubs that contain neurosecretory cells (NSCs) that produce various peptide hormones. To obtain insight into how hormonal signaling…

- Somatrogon versus somatropin in children with growth hormone deficiency: a real-world matched-cohort study. [Journal Article]Ann Pediatr Endocrinol Metab. 2026 Oct 11. [Online ahead of print]AP
- CONCLUSIONS: In this matched cohort, no significant differences in growth or safety outcomes were observed between somatrogon and somatropin at one year. Somatrogon appears to be a reasonable alternative to daily GH therapy in children with GHD.

- Chronic kidney disease as a potential risk factor for pituitary hormone dysregulation: a review of the underlying mechanisms. [Review]
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a condition of abnormal kidney structure or function, pathologically characterized by chronic inflammation, tubular atrophy, vascular rarefaction, glomerulosclerosis, and interstitial fibrosis. CKD potentially represents a risk factor for several disease conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, mineral bone disorder, and electrolyte imbalance. Hormone dysregulat…

- Glyceryl tribenzoate, a flavoring agent, stimulates hippocampal plasticity and protects memory via PPARα. [Journal Article]Neurochem Int. 2026 Oct 10; 201:106270. [Online ahead of print]NI
- Glyceryl tribenzoate (GTB) or tribenzoin is a flavoring agent with characteristic anti-microbial property. We have already delineated GTB's immunomodulatory role via the enrichment of regulatory T cells in mouse models of multiple sclerosis and anti-neuroinflammatory role via the reduction of glial activation in a monkey model of Parkinson's disease and a mouse model of Huntington's disease. Howe…

- Benchmarking of growth hormone therapy in Hong Kong: ten-year data from the multi-centre GROWTH study. [Journal Article]Growth Horm IGF Res. 2026 Oct 09; 85:101727. [Online ahead of print]GH
- CONCLUSIONS: This multicentre study shows the utility of GloBE-Reg for understanding the use of rhGH therapy at a regional level. Findings demonstrate a variation in clinical practice as well as in short-term growth outcomes. These results support the need for continued optimisation of rhGH therapy through local benchmarking and care quality improvement activities.

- Exploratory secondary analysis of published aggregate growth and metabolic data in children born small for gestational age treated with growth hormone. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Published annual mean values differed across follow-up, but changing outcome-specific samples and the unavailability of individual-level longitudinal data to the present secondary analysis preclude estimation of within-child change, causal treatment effects, or cardiovascular risk.

- Cerebellar Metastasis From Radioiodine-Refractory Widely Invasive Oncocytic (Hurthle Cell) Carcinoma of the Thyroid in a Young Adult. [Case Reports]
- Oncocytic (Hurthle cell) carcinoma is an uncommon thyroid malignancy that tends to spread through the bloodstream and often concentrates radioactive iodine poorly. Spread to the brain is rare, and a solitary cerebellar deposit is rarer still. We describe a 44-year-old man who presented with neck swelling and was found to have a widely invasive oncocytic carcinoma with extensive vascular invasion …

- Up to 5 years of weekly somatrogon in children with growth hormone deficiency: final data from the global phase 3 study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Based on the final data from the largest cohort of somatrogon-treated patients to date, once-weekly somatrogon demonstrated sustained efficacy and an acceptable safety profile during the OLE period. Once-weekly somatrogon constitutes a valuable long-term alternative to once-daily somatropin, offering potentially improved adherence and treatment outcomes.

- A 3D in vitro follicle-endometrial organoid co-culture model recapitulates ovarian control of human endometrial decidualization. [Journal Article]bioRxiv. 2026 Sep 29.B
- Female infertility remains a major women's reproductive health challenge, with impaired endometrial receptivity contributing to recurrent implantation failure, early pregnancy loss, and pregnancy complications. Mechanistic studies of human early pregnancy are limited by the lack of physiologically relevant models, and existing in vitro endometrial models rely on exogenous hormone treatment and do…
