  • Sinus Laser-Assisted Closure Under Tumescent Local Anesthesia for Pilonidal Disease: A Pilot Study. [Journal Article]
Cureus. 2026 Sep; 18(9):e115748.Pomper GK, Previsic A, … Vukoja IC
  • CONCLUSIONS: SiLaC performed under TLA appears feasible, well tolerated, and safe for appropriately selected patients in an outpatient setting. Given the small sample size, absence of a control group, and limited follow-up, larger prospective comparative studies with longer follow-up are needed to validate these findings and to determine whether TLA offers advantages over conventional local infiltration anesthesia, particularly in more extensive disease.

  • Guanfacine as a potential preventive therapy for chronic migraine: a mechanistic hypothesis. [Review]
    Front Neurol. 2026; 17:1947051.Kesayan T, Patel KFN
  • Despite the recent therapeutic advances, approximately one-third of patients with chronic migraine fail to achieve clinically meaningful benefit, and existing oral preventive therapies remain limited by tolerability and off-target effects. There is, therefore, a pressing need for new, well-tolerated, mechanistically distinct preventive treatments for chronic migraine. This hypothesis article eval…
  • Comparison of nalbuphine and naloxone for local cutaneous nociceptive blockade in rats. [Journal Article]
Biomed Pharmacother. 2026 Oct 01; 204:119964. [Online ahead of print]Chou AK, Chiu CC, … Wang JJBP
  • This study investigated the local inhibition of a reflexive cutaneous nociceptive response produced by nalbuphine and naloxone after subcutaneous administration and compared their pharmacological profiles with those of lidocaine. At the single equimolar dose tested (39.3 μmol/kg), nalbuphine produced significantly greater local cutaneous nociceptive blockade than naloxone. Dose-response analyses …
