- Investigating the mechanism of Xiongfu formula and its active ingredient Z-Ligustilide alleviates chronic migraine by modulating the MAPK/ERK/CREB pathway and microglia-mediated neuroinflammation. [Journal Article]J Ethnopharmacol. 2026 Oct 02; 374(Pt 2):122463. [Online ahead of print]JE
- CONCLUSIONS: CRCR provided therapeutic benefits against chronic migraine through regulating the MAPK/ERK/CREB pathway. LIG represents a higher content in the blood and brain of migraine rats and remarkably suppresses MAPK/ERK/CREB pathway. Targeting MAPK mediated neuroinflammation with LIG and CRCR could serve as a potential treatment option for neuroinflammatory illnesses such as chronic migraine in future.

- Da chuanxiong formula improves vascular remodeling via promoting angiogenesis and vasodilation mediated by PI3K/Akt/eNOS signaling. [Journal Article]
- Vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) is a vast disease with chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH) being the major driver. In our previous study, we have verified that Da ChuanXiong (DCX) formula could alleviate VCI, and obviously upregulate the decreased cerebral blood flow, indicating its potential benefits on vascular remodeling. This study aims to explore the pro-angiogenic and vasodilatory effe…

- The latest research progress of ligustilide in the prevention and treatment of central nervous system disorders. [Review]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1843537.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: LIG demonstrates broad neuroprotective potential in preclinical studies and may represent a promising candidate for CNS disease intervention. However, its poor chemical stability, low oral bioavailability, limited toxicity evaluation, and lack of clinical evidence remain major challenges for translational application. Further studies are required to optimize delivery strategies and validate its efficacy and safety in clinical settings.

- Danshen-Chuanxiong alleviates cerebral ischemia by regulating carnitine metabolism and angiogenesis via activating CPT1/HIF-1α signaling axis. [Journal Article]J Ethnopharmacol. 2027 Jan 10; 372:122181.JE
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides the first evidence that DC exerts therapeutic effects by activating the CPT1/HIF-1α signaling axis, which subsequently modulates carnitine metabolism and angiogenesis-related pathways. Taken together, these findings establish a solid theoretical foundation supporting the clinical translation and further development of DC for treating cerebral ischemia.
