- African coastal camera network efforts at monitoring ocean, climate, and human impacts. [Journal Article]
- Regular and long-term monitoring of coastal areas is a prerequisite to avoiding or mitigating the impacts of climate and human-driven hazards. In Africa, where populations and infrastructures are particularly exposed to risk, there is an urgent need to establish coastal monitoring, as observations are generally scarce. Measurement campaigns and very high-resolution satellite imagery are costly, w…

- Drugs and Lactation Database (LactMed): Omeprazole [BOOK]Drugs and Lactation Database (LactMed). National Library of Medicine (US): Bethesda (MD).BOOK
- Limited information indicates that maternal omeprazole doses of 20 mg daily produce low levels in milk and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants.
- Evaluation of the relationship between polymorphisms in CYP2C19 and the single-dose pharmacokinetics of omeprazole in healthy Chinese volunteers: A multicenter study. [Multicenter Study]
- The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between polymorphisms in CYP2C19 and the single-dose pharmacokinetics (PKs) of omeprazole in healthy Chinese volunteers. A 20 mg single dose of omeprazole (Losec) enteric-coated capsules or tablets was orally administered to 656 healthy subjects from eight subcenters. The polymorphic alleles of CYP2C19*2, *3, and *17 were determined by Sanger…

- The Effect of Manufacturer on the Compounding of Omeprazole Suspensions and Their Stability Assessment. [Journal Article]
- In New Zealand, there are no liquid formulations of omeprazole commercially available, therefore suspensions must be extemporaneously compounded from solid dosage forms for patients with swallowing difficulties. The funding for solid dosage forms of omeprazole changes frequently, often every one to two years, without consideration of the impact this may have when extemporaneously compounded liqui…
- Acid Inhibitory Effect of a Combination of Omeprazole and Sodium Bicarbonate (CDFR0209) Compared With Delayed-Release Omeprazole 40 mg Alone in Healthy Adult Male Subjects. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CDFR0209, a combination of an immediate-release formulation of omeprazole 40 mg and sodium bicarbonate 1100 mg, has been developed to treat acid-related disorders. We compared the acid inhibitory effects of CDFR0209 and delayed-release omeprazole (omeprazole-DR, Losec 40 mg) after repeated dosing in Helicobacter pylori-negative healthy adult male subjects. In this 2-period crossover study, 30 sub…

- A STABILITY STUDY OF OMEPRAZOLE DILUTED IN SODIUM CHLORIDE FOR INTRAVENOUS INFUSION AND DISCUSSION REGARDING CURRENT PRACTICE IN UK PAEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE UNITS. [Journal Article]Arch Dis Child. 2016 Sep; 101(9):e2.AD
- CONCLUSIONS: Our study confirmed the current manufacturers recommendations that omeprazole at 0.4 mg/ml is stable in sodium chloride for 12 hrs only. We also showed that a more concentrated solution of 0.8 mg/ml had the same degradation profile as 0.4 mg/ml.We recommend that when continuous intravenous infusions of omeprazole is required, that it is administered by preparing 0.8 mg/ml in NaCl 0.9% and changed every 12 hrs.

- Challenges of correlating pH change with relief of clinical symptoms in gastro esophageal reflux disease: a phase III, randomized study of Zegerid versus Losec. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CONCLUSIONS: Superiority of Zegerid over Losec for rapid heartburn relief was not demonstrated; both treatments were equally effective however the rapid onset of action of Losec was unexpected. Factors, including aspects of study design may have contributed to this. This study supports previously reported difficulty in correlating intra-gastric pH change with clinical effect in GERD therapy, highlighting the significance of several technical considerations for studies of this type.

- Characterization of muscle spindle afferents in the adult mouse using an in vitro muscle-nerve preparation. [Journal Article]
- We utilized an in vitro adult mouse extensor digitorum longus (EDL) nerve-attached preparation to characterize the responses of muscle spindle afferents to ramp-and-hold stretch and sinusoidal vibratory stimuli. Responses were measured at both room (24°C) and muscle body temperature (34°C). Muscle spindle afferent static firing frequencies increased linearly in response to increasing stretch leng…

- Comparison of the efficacy and safety between generic intravenous omeprazole (Zefxon) and original omeprazole (Losec) in the adjunct treatment of non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding in Siriraj Hospital. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Although the original omeprazole Losec tended to have more favorable outcomes in the treatment of non-variceal UGIB in the present study, non-inferiority test showed that the efficacy and safety of the generic omeprazole Zefxon was not inferior to those of the original omeprazole.
