- Shared structural alterations, divergent functional responses in salivary and lacrimal glands: A conceptual framework from Cdc42-mediated polarity disruption. [Review]J Oral Biosci. 2026 Oct 02; 68(6):100825. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: A conceptual framework is proposed, in which diverse forms of tissue remodeling converge on common structural alterations, and gland-specific response patterns determine downstream functional outcomes. Understanding these response patterns may provide new insights into exocrine gland homeostasis, and they may facilitate the development of therapeutic strategies for gland dysfunction associated with aging and disease.

- Mechanosensitive ion channels in intestinal homeostasis and disease. [Review]eGastroenterology. 2026; 4(3):e100443.E
- Mechanical deformation is integral to intestinal physiology, linking luminal transit to epithelial adaptation and motor control. These physical cues engage multiple mechanotransduction pathways that coordinate cellular adaptation and help preserve intestinal homeostasis. Inflammation, obstruction and matrix remodelling alter both the physical input and the state of the responding cell, allowing n…

- Intratumoral androstene-3,17-dione defines breast cancer subtype and prognosis. [Journal Article]
- Androgens inhibit breast cancer (BC) growth in estrogen receptor (ER)-positive BC and promote growth in ER-negative BC. Correlating intratumoral androgens, instead of circulating androgens, and their downstream transcriptome, a measure of free unbound androgen function, may offer a direct assessment of androgen action in BC. Intratumoral androgen androstenedione (A4) levels in BC specimens correl…

- Endothelial Exostosin-1 Is Needed for Glycocalyx Integrity and Inflammatory Resolution in Acute Lung Injury. [Journal Article]
- The endothelial glycocalyx depends on Exostosin-1 (Ext1)-mediated heparan sulfate synthesis; however, its endothelial cell-autonomous role in acute inflammation remains unclear. Therefore, we examined the role of Ext1 during acute inflammation. In this study, endothelial-specific Ext1-deficient mice (Ext1[flox/flox] and VE-cadherin-Cre) were generated, and their response to endotoxin challenge wa…

- Very Late Chronic Total Occlusion After Drug-Coated Balloon Treatment for a Diffuse Long Coronary Lesion in Unstable Angina: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- A drug-coated balloon (DCB) strategy has become an established option for de novo coronary lesions, offering the advantage of avoiding permanent implants. However, very long-term vascular changes after stentless percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remain insufficiently characterized. We report a case of chronic total occlusion that developed eight years after DCB angioplasty for a diffuse lo…

- Functional Epicardial Coronary Disease: Vasospasm and Dynamic Obstruction in Ischaemic Syndromes. [Review]Cardiol Clin. 2026 Nov; 44(4):549-563.CC
- Epicardial coronary disease includes dynamic disorders capable of causing myocardial ischaemia without fixed obstructive stenosis. Vasospastic angina (VSA) and myocardial bridging (MB) are paradigmatic entities characterized by transient luminal narrowing and reversible flow impairment. Although traditionally viewed as distinct, they frequently overlap, sharing mechanisms such as endothelial dysf…

- Large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) can show luminal growth in lymph nodes and extranodal sites, but nodal cases with intrasinusoidal growth may be difficult to distinguish from intravascular LBCL (IVLBCL). We retrospectively reviewed 19 LBCLs with luminal growth and classified them as nodal LBCL with intrasinusoidal growth (LBCL-IS; n = 5), extranodal LBCL with intravascular growth without hemophagocyt…

- CONCLUSIONS: AIFPS integrates quality-enhanced deep imaging features with radiomics, including delta-radiomics, and clinicopathological variables to enable accurate and generalizable preoperative prediction of pathological complete response, particularly in HER2-positive disease, while further validation is required for triple-negative and luminal subtypes. Its application in luminal breast cancer requires further dedicated subtype-specific modeling. With prospective validation, this approach may support individualized treatment stratification following neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
