- Targeted-Release Budesonide in Chinese Patients with IgA Nephropathy: A Real-World Retrospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Drug Des Devel Ther. 2026; 20:637358.DD
- CONCLUSIONS: In this Chinese real-world cohort, TRF-budesonide was associated with reduced proteinuria and hematuria over 6 months, with stable to modestly improved kidney function. Exploratory signals related to treatment timing and Oxford T score require prospective validation before they can guide patient selection.

- Collagenous Gastritis Presenting as Chronic Nausea and Vomiting. [Case Reports]ACG Case Rep J. 2026 Nov; 13(11):e02378.AC
- Collagenous gastritis (CoG) is a rare disorder characterized by subepithelial collagen band deposition in the gastric mucosa. In this report, we describe a case of a 33-year-old woman presenting with chronic, episodic, postprandial nausea and vomiting later found to have biopsy proven CoG. She symptomatically improved following proton pump inhibitor and budesonide initiation and cessation of nons…

- Three-year real-world effectiveness of dupilumab in eosinophilic CRSwNP across upper and lower airways. [Journal Article]Allergol Int. 2026 Oct 30. [Online ahead of print]AI
- CONCLUSIONS: Long-term dupilumab provided sustained benefits across both the upper and lower airways and enabled progressive, ICS-sparing de-escalation of background asthma therapy, including maintenance ICS withdrawal. These findings suggest a shift toward remission off conventional therapy. Age and disease duration may enable risk stratification for persistent olfactory dysfunction and inform personalized management.

- Vedolizumab use for severe chronic enterocolitis in a child with Hoyeraal-Hreidarsson syndrome: A case report. [Journal Article]
- We report a patient with Hoyeraal-Hreidarsson syndrome (HHS), a telomere biology disorder, who developed severe chronic enterocolitis with inflammatory bowel disease-like features. Vedolizumab led to improvement in stool frequency, reduced fecal calprotectin, and clinical remission without infectious complications. Remission was maintained with vedolizumab monotherapy for 2 years after discontinu…

- Cost-effectiveness of community-based repurposed therapies for COVID-19 in the PRINCIPLE trial. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Trial-based economic evidence from large platform trials can inform efficient resource allocation during public health emergencies, including identifying interventions that offer limited or no economic value. These findings highlight the importance of integrating economic evaluation into rapid trial platforms to support timely funding and disinvestment decisions under uncertainty.

- Timing of intratracheal administration of budesonide mixed with surfactant to prevent bronchopulmonary dysplasia: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: In trials restricting treatment to within 4 h after birth, budesonide-surfactant therapy may reduce BPD36; however, this post hoc, trial-level finding is hypothesis-generating and may reflect differences between earlier small and contemporary large trials. Current evidence does not support routine budesonide-surfactant therapy. A large prospective trial of early administration is needed to determine whether timing modifies benefit.

- Nasal Obstruction and Treatment With Oxymetazoline and Corticosteroids: A Randomized Clinical Trial. [Journal Article]JAMA Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2026 Oct 29. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: In this randomized clinical trial, there was a large and clinically meaningful greater proportion of responders in the oxymetazoline arm, without signs or symptoms of rhinitis medicamentosa during the study. All participants successfully weaned off oxymetazoline. For patients with chronic nasal obstruction failing topical steroids, chronic therapy with combination oxymetazoline/budesonide may be considered, though risks of rebound congestion with longer-term use cannot be excluded.

- Collagenous gastritis in pediatric patients with severe follicular pangastritis and iron deficiency anemia. [Journal Article]
- Collagenous gastritis is a rare disorder characterized by subepithelial collagen deposition in the gastric mucosa and is frequently associated with iron deficiency anemia. We report two girls aged 8 and 16 years with persistent iron deficiency anemia, abdominal pain, bloating, and constipation. Upper endoscopy revealed severe follicular pangastritis in both patients. Histopathology demonstrated c…

- Fucoidan attenuates airway remodeling in asthmatic mice. [Journal Article]
- Airway remodeling is a pathological hallmark of asthma that is difficult to reverse and effective therapeutic interventions remain limited. The present study investigated whether fucoidan, a natural sulfated polysaccharide derived from seaweed, attenuates airway remodeling in ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthmatic mice. In total, 40 female Kunming mice were randomly assigned to four groups (n=10/group…

- Fidanacogene elaparvovec is an adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapy that enables endogenous factor IX (FIX) expression in hemophilia B, potentially eliminating the need for prophylactic FIX replacement. Post-treatment monitoring focuses on FIX durability, hepatic safety, and immune-mediated loss of expression. A 40-year-old man with severe hemophilia B received a single intravenous dos…

- Nefecon is a targeted-release formulation of the corticosteroid budesonide. It is specifically engineered to selectively target the ileal gut-associated lymphoid tissue to reduce galactose-deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1) production and IgA immune complex formation. Irbesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker that is widely used to reduce proteinuria in chronic kidney disease. The study aimed to inv…
