  • Pharmacogenomics of cancer therapy-related cardiomyopathy in childhood cancer survivors. [Review]
    Pharmacogenomics. 2026 Oct 11; :1-11. [Online ahead of print]Poudel S, Sapkota YP
  • Cancer therapy-related cardiomyopathy (CTR-cardiomyopathy) is the leading noncancer late effect contributing to morbidity and mortality among adult survivors of childhood cancer. Anthracycline chemotherapy and thoracic radiotherapy are the primary treatment-related risk factors. However, substantial variability among similarly treated individuals highlights the role of germline genetic susceptibi…
  • SIRT3-Dependent Actions of Berberine: From Molecular Therapies to Toxicity. [Review]
J Biochem Mol Toxicol. 2026 Oct; 40(10):e71126.Shackebaei D, Miraghaee SS, … Yarmohammadi FJB
  • Berberine, an alkaloid with broad bioactive properties, exerts its pleiotropic effects by modulating SIRT3, a mitochondrial NAD[+]-dependent deacetylase. This review examines the dual role of SIRT3 as a target of berberine in the management of various disorders while also addressing its associated toxicological profiles. The antihyperglycemic effects of berberine are mediated through SIRT3 inhibi…
  • Fibrous dysplasia of the jaw and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma coexistence, diagnosis and treatment experience and analysis: a case report. [Case Reports]
    Front Surg. 2026; 13:1928188.Hong Q, Zhang C, … Chen NFS
  • CONCLUSIONS: The coexistence of FD and DLBCL is easily misdiagnosed as FD progression. For FD patients with new-onset bone destruction and mass formation, timely pathological biopsy is essential to confirm malignancy. Accurate imaging, pathological evaluation, and risk stratification guide treatment selection. First-line chemoimmunotherapy may achieve partial remission in refractory cases, and second-line intensive salvage regimens are needed for persistent disease. This case provides a reference for the diagnosis and treatment of similar rare complex cases.
  • Function-preserving biointerface engineering of bacterial microswimmers for active cargo delivery. [Journal Article]
Colloids Surf B Biointerfaces. 2026 Oct 06; 270:116237. [Online ahead of print]Pan P, Sun TT, … Shi HCS
  • Surface engineering of bacterial microswimmers offers new opportunities for active cargo delivery by combining synthetic interfaces with intrinsic bacterial motility and environmental responsiveness. However, current strategies mainly focus on improving bacterial protection and cargo loading, whereas the effects of engineered interfaces on the biological functions required for active delivery rem…
  • Biopolymer Silica Hybrids as Superior Nanocarriers for Anticancer Drug Delivery. [Journal Article]
ACS Appl Bio Mater. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]Iqbal S, Ilyas S, … Mathur SAA
  • Liposomal carriers are widely used for anticancer drug delivery due to their biocompatible nature in the biological milieu. Liposome-based drugs often face premature leakage, uncontrolled release, and insufficient control over long-term drug availability. Here, we present poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA)-coated mesoporous silica nanocarriers (PLGA-mSiO2, polysilomes) as an efficient and stabl…
  • Primary thyroid diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: a case report and focused review of the literature. [Case Reports]
    Ann Hematol. 2026 Oct 09; 105(11).Kirkgöz K, Weisel K, … von Kroge SAH
  • Primary thyroid diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a rare subset of primary extranodal DLBCL. Thus, there are limited evidence-based specific recommendations regarding its diagnosis and treatment. We present a case report of a patient with relapsed primary thyroid DLBCL, followed by a focused literature review covering key epidemiological, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects. In 2017, a 74-…
