- An update on the diagnosis and treatment of seborrheic keratosis. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Advances in molecular understanding and technology have transformed the diagnostic and therapeutic landscape for SK. There is a growing need for accessible, effective, and cosmetically favorable treatment options, especially with rising patient demand. Further research is warranted to validate long-term efficacy and broaden availability.

- Is there a Link Between Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra and Metabolic Syndrome: A Cross-Sectional Exploratory Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of MetS in DPN patients was much higher compared to the prevalence in the general population, and further studies with a control population are necessary to establish the association between DPN and metabolic syndrome.

- TTF-1-Positive Merkel Cell Carcinoma in Situ: Extending the Neoplasm's Immunophenotypic Spectrum Through Case Study and Literature Review. [Case Reports]J Cutan Pathol. 2026 Aug 31. [Online ahead of print]JC
- Merkel cell carcinoma in situ (MCCIS), especially when unaccompanied by invasive Merkel cell carcinoma, is exceptionally rare. Most reported cases of MCCIS without invasion demonstrate the typical immunophenotype of invasive MCC, including cytokeratin 20 (CK20) positivity and thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1) negativity. Here we report a case of MCCIS without invasion exhibiting a phenotype …

- Melanoma simulators: a retrospective study of nonmelanocytic mimickers. [Journal Article]Melanoma Res. 2026 Aug 24. [Online ahead of print]MR
- Cutaneous melanoma is an aggressive malignancy whose early detection is crucial for prognosis; however, some lesions can mimic nonmelanocytic conditions, leading to diagnostic errors. This retrospective study evaluated the frequency and characteristics of melanomas initially misclassified as nonmelanocytic lesions. All excised cutaneous lesions at the Dermatology Unit of the University Hospital F…

- 20-MHz high-intensity focused ultrasound for seborrheic keratoses of the head and neck: outcomes and dermoscopic predictors. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: HIFU is a promising treatment for SKs in cosmetically sensitive areas, providing high clearance with favourable cosmetic outcomes. Anatomical location and baseline dermoscopy can support patient selection and treatment-parameter tailoring.

- Clonal Seborrheic Keratosis with Adjacent Bowen's Disease in a Non-Sun-Exposed Patient: Collision or Transformation? [Case Reports]Cancer Manag Res. 2026; 18:602855.CM
- We report a case of clonal seborrheic keratosis (CPSK) adjacent to Bowen's disease (BD) in a 29‑year‑old male with no history of chronic sun exposure. The lesion presented as a brown, flat papule on the right side of the back. Histopathologically, the CPSK component featured well‑demarcated intraepidermal nests of basaloid keratinocytes, consistent with the Borst‑Jadassohn phenomenon. Adjacent ar…

- The genomic and spatial transcriptomic landscape of seborrheic keratoses. [Journal Article]J Invest Dermatol. 2026 Jul 07. [Online ahead of print]JI
- Seborrheic keratosis is a common benign skin tumor that affects most individuals, particularly later in life. Despite its high prevalence, the underlying biology of seborrheic keratosis remains poorly understood. In this study, we performed whole-exome sequencing and spatial transcriptomics on a cohort of seborrheic keratosis and solar lentigo lesions to gain insight into their molecular landscap…

- Triggering of Koebner Phenomenon by Picosecond Laser in a Psoriatic Patient: Clinical and Immunopathologic Insights. [Case Reports]Lasers Surg Med. 2026 Jun 30. [Online ahead of print]LS
- CONCLUSIONS: To our knowledge, this is the first report of the Koebner phenomenon induced by picosecond laser therapy in a patient with psoriasis. Although picosecond lasers are known for minimal thermal damage, their photomechanical effects may activate immune responses and trigger new psoriatic lesions. Therefore, caution and careful monitoring are advised when using picosecond lasers in patients with psoriasis.

- Determining the Association Between Clear Cell Acanthoma and Psoriasis: A Retrospective Case-Control Study. [Journal Article]Am J Dermatopathol. 2026 Aug 01; 48(8):584-585.AJ
- Given clear cell acanthoma's overlapping similarities with psoriasis, we compared the presence of psoriasis and its known cardiovascular comorbidities in patients with clear cell acanthoma with patients with a control benign skin lesion (seborrheic keratosis). We found no significant relationship between clear cell acanthoma and psoriasis.

- SAVE: Spectrum-Aided Visual Enhancement for AI-Based Skin Cancer Detection. [Journal Article]
- Background/Objectives: The early identification of skin cancer by standard RGB dermoscopy is a clinical difficulty because of the complex visual differences between impacted lesions and healthy tissue. Methods: For the biomedical challenge, a novel approach to signal processing and image reconstruction is introduced in this study, called the spectrum-aided visual enhancer (SAVE). The proposed SAV…

- Pediatric dermatoses presenting as follicular papules are common entities encountered in clinical practice. These are a heterogeneous group of disorders of infectious or noninfectious origin that commonly present as regularly spaced, small papules with or without perifollicular inflammation. Inflammatory causes include follicular eczema, pityriasis rubra pilaris, lichen nitidus, follicular seborr…

- Dermatoscopic Features of Hyperpigmented Dermatoses. [Review]Clin Cosmet Investig Dermatol. 2026; 19:609514.CC
- In recent years, dermatoscopy has emerged as a valuable adjunctive tool for the diagnosis of various cutaneous disorders. Initially developed for the evaluation of melanocytic lesions, this non-invasive technique has since demonstrated significant utility in the assessment of non-melanocytic hyperpigmented dermatoses. This review provides an up-to-date and practical overview of the dermatoscopic …

- Large cell acanthoma: A benign lesion masquerading as malignant melanoma. [Case Reports]
- We present the case of a 54-year-old woman with a clinically suspected malignant melanoma. Histology, however, revealed the unexpected diagnosis of large cell acanthoma. This is a benign epidermal neoplasm that is poorly understood and underreported in the literature. The clinical and dermoscopic appearance in our patient differs from previously reported cases. We draw attention to this heterogen…
