- CONCLUSIONS: Among male recreational runners aged 18-30 years with a weekly running distance exceeding 20 km, EI + PE intervention was associated with reductions in tibial loading and ankle plantarflexion angle immediately after the intervention, with these parameters showing further reductions at the three-month follow-up compared with the EI group. Moreover, the EI + PE intervention was associated with increased model-derived contributions of the gluteus medius and tibialis anterior, reduced model-derived contribution of the soleus, and substantially lower TSK scores; however, whether these changes translate into clinically meaningful benefits remains to be confirmed in future studies.

- CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest neuromuscular deficits are not present across or within specific injury types (Patellofemoral Pain, Achilles Tendinopathy, Iliotibial Band Syndrome, Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome and Hamstring Strain Injury). The findings may reflect methodological inconsistencies across studies, such as electrode placement, EMG normalisation, task design, and participant characteristics. Future research should adopt standardised EMG protocols, consider the role of the entire kinetic chain, and thoroughly report participant running profiles.

Based on these observational findings, we speculate that restoring bilateral balance in external oblique force and strengthening the hip abductors and internal rotators may help reduce tibial loading and thereby mitigate the risk of MTSS. Meniscal scaffolds and MAT represent complementary, non-competing reconstructive strategies, with selection dependent on the extent of meniscal deficiency, peripheral rim integrity, and patient-specific factors. The preferred method for allograft/scaffold processing and surgical technique remains a topic of debate. Ultimately, the decision often depends on the surgeon's preference and graft availability.

- A SHAP-based machine learning approach to decoding the relationship between running posture features and tibial load in novice runners with MTSS: towards accurate and intelligent rehabilitation strategies. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: For novice MTSS runners, a lower COM position, greater ankle inversion, and increased knee internal rotation were associated with elevated tibial loading and showed clear nonlinear relationships with identifiable threshold effects. These findings highlight complex nonlinear interactions among multiple biomechanical factors and demonstrate the value of SHAP in quantifying such effects. Clinically, optimizing vertical COM control and strengthening the ankle evertor and knee external rotator musculature may help reduce tibial loading during running and lower the risk of MTSS development or recurrence.

- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate that lower-leg inflammatory conditions, particularly among long-distance runners, warrant further attention in NCAA female athletes. In addition, our results highlight specific diagnoses that merit focused investigation, with medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints) and patellar tendinitis emerging as the most reported conditions. Our results can help guide future research efforts aimed at better understanding the mechanisms underlying the development of inflammatory conditions in female athletes.
