- CONCLUSIONS: Unilateral HGNS is a treatment option for both sOSA and nOSA, demonstrating similar overall treatment efficacy with comparable postoperative AHI and surgical success rates in this limited cohort. Larger AHI reductions in nOSA patients may indicate greater therapeutic effect for non-positional obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Combining HGNS with positional therapy or other strategies to minimize supine sleep time may help enhance outcomes in this subgroup. Further research is needed to explore factors influencing residual AHI in sOSA patients and refine treatment approaches for optimal results.

- Transient bacteremia during coblation-assisted tonsillotomy in children. [Journal Article]Turk J Med Sci. 2026; 56(4):1230-1234.TJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study on evaluation of transient bacteremia after coblation-assisted tonsillotomy. Although the technique is minimally invasive, transient bacteremia occurred in 4.8% of the children. Antibiotic prophylaxis should be considered individually in patients at high risk for bacteremia-related complications, in accordance with current recommendations.

- CONCLUSIONS: Compared with placebo, GLP-1 receptor agonists reduced AHI and BMI and improved mean SpO2, and ranked highest for these outcomes in the SUCRA analysis. Comparisons between the active interventions, however, were largely non-significant and rested on indirect evidence, and the certainty of the evidence was moderate at best, being low or very low for most comparisons. This treatment hierarchy should therefore be regarded as hypothesis-generating rather than as a basis for firm clinical recommendations. Within these limits, these findings suggest that GLP-1 receptor agonists may offer a promising therapeutic approach for managing OSA in overweight or obese patients with metabolic comorbidities, though this remains to be confirmed in larger, high-quality, head-to-head trials.

- CONCLUSIONS: Subjects with unilateral ADDwoR are associated with transverse maxillary hypoplasia and a higher prevalence of chronic nasal obstruction or prior nasal surgery. Transverse maxillary hypoplasia may contribute to occlusal instability and asymmetric TMJ loading, potentially aggravating unilateral ADDwoR. Combined with GWAS findings linking OSA as a causal factor for TMD, these results emphasize the need for more research in support of sleep-disordered breathing screening and intervention in ADDwoR.
