- Management of Altered Passive Eruption With Gingivoplasty and Osteoplasty Prior to Esthetic Veneer Rehabilitation. [Case Reports]
- Altered passive eruption is a common esthetic condition characterized by excessive gingival coverage of the anatomical crowns, resulting in short clinical crowns, excessive gingival display, and compromised smile esthetics. This case report describes the management of altered passive eruption in a 27-year-old male patient who presented with hypersensitivity affecting several maxillary anterior te…

- Developmental ecology of the infant oral ecosystem: a framework for early childhood caries. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Reframing ECC as a developmental ecological disorder complements established preventive approaches, including fluoride use, dietary sugar control, oral hygiene, and regular dental care, while highlighting the importance of maternal health, early-life nutritional ecology, and microbiome-informed preventive strategies aimed at preserving oral ecosystem resilience from the earliest stages of life. The proposed framework is intended to generate testable hypotheses for future longitudinal and interventional research.

- Relation of gubernacular canal and permanent dentition by Nolla stage: Cone-beam computed tomography analysis. [Journal Article]Stomatologija. 2026; 28(2):47-52.S
- CONCLUSIONS: The fi ndings of this study suggest that displacement of the GC from its typical occlusal position to other directions may be associated with tooth impaction or delayed eruption and highlight the potential of GC position as an early radiographic marker for eruption disturbances.
- Considerations in Restorative Management and New Oral Findings in a Patient With Congenital Insensitivity to Pain With Anhidrosis. [Case Reports]Spec Care Dentist. 2026; 46(5):e70252.SC
- Congenital Insensitivity to Pain with Anhidrosis (CIPA) is a rare, autosomal recessive genetic condition characterized by an inability to sweat, intellectual disability, a lack of pain sensation and self-mutilating behaviours. This report describes the dental management and longitudinal oral findings of a child with CIPA, highlighting a restorative approach and novel findings in the permanent den…

- Is infraocclusion always caused by ankylosis? Current perspectives on primary molar ankylosis: A systematic review. [Review]
- Ankylosed primary molars are relatively common during the mixed dentition period; however, ankylosis does not always coincide with infraocclusion. This systematic review assessed the clinical evidence regarding ankylosis of primary molars, including its etiology, diagnosis, and management, and discussed whether infraocclusion is primarily caused by ankylosis or instead reflects a broader disturba…

- Trauma-induced crown dilaceration of permanent maxillary central incisors: A case report with CBCT follow-up. [Case Reports]
- Traumatic dental injuries to primary teeth may result in developmental disturbances in the permanent successors because of the close anatomical relationship between primary tooth apices and developing permanent tooth germs. Injuries occurring during crown formation may interfere with normal odontogenesis and lead to crown dilaceration. A 7-year-old healthy boy presented with abnormal eruption of …

- Preservation of an Inverted Ectopic Maxillary Central Incisor Adjacent to an Alveolar Cleft by Replantation With Axial Correction and Orthodontic Alignment. [Journal Article]Cleft Palate Craniofac J. 2026 Sep 10; :10556656261473960. [Online ahead of print]CP
- Management of an inverted ectopic maxillary central incisor adjacent to an alveolar cleft is challenging because spontaneous eruption into the dental arch is impossible. In a male patient with unilateral cleft lip and alveolus treated between 5 years 4 months and 12 years 5 months, the incisor was replanted with axial correction and mucosal coverage after secondary alveolar bone grafting and conf…

- Prevalence and severity of ectopic eruption of first permanent molars in 5-12-year-Old children attending a tertiary dental hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this hospital-based Dubai cohort assessed across a broad 5-12-year age range using available diagnostic radiographs, FPM ectopic eruption showed a mid-range prevalence with a maxillary predilection. Early radiographic assessment and timely interceptive intervention remain important to prevent complications and support optimal occlusal development.

- Vulnerability of third molars to internal resorption: two case reports of in situ and transplanted third molars. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Third molars may be particularly susceptible to internal resorption, both in situ and following transplantation. Although autologous transplantation is a reliable long-term treatment option, lifelong clinical and radiographic follow-up is essential to detect late-onset internal resorptive processes.

- Delayed tooth eruption as an early clinical indicator of genetical tooth agenesis: A family-based study of cases with whole-exome sequencing. [Journal Article]
- Delayed tooth eruption is frequently considered a benign developmental variation but may represent an early sign of genetically driven tooth agenesis. We evaluated a 22-month-old female presenting with markedly delayed eruption (only eight primary teeth) and a positive family history of ectodermal features. Given the inconclusive early radiographic findings, whole-exome sequencing (WES) was utili…

- Esthetic Crown Lengthening: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Case Reports]
- Excessive gingival display is a common esthetic concern among patients seeking smile enhancement. Altered passive eruption (APE) is a frequent etiologic factor and is characterized by incomplete apical migration of the gingival margin following tooth eruption. Accurate diagnosis and adherence to periodontal biologic principles are essential for achieving stable and predictable outcomes in estheti…

- Chronology and sequence of permanent tooth eruption in children in Buenos Aires City. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this sample, eruption began with lower central incisors, was symmetrical, earlier in girls, and earlier in the lower incisor-canine group, with sequential stability in both sexes during the first transitional period, and variations in the second.

- Mechanical control in dental and jaw morphogenesis and remodeling. [Review]
- Tooth and maxillomandibular bone development is a synergistic process precisely and coordinately regulated by genetic programs, molecular signaling networks, and external environmental factors. Recent rapid progress in in situ biomechanical measurement techniques, cellular mechanical imaging, and molecular tracing technologies has greatly promoted research in developmental biomechanics. - Modified Radiographic Age Estimation Criteria Based on Third Molar Eruption and Mineralization Status. [Journal Article]J Forensic Odontostomatol. 2026 Aug 27; 44(2):43-56.JF
- CONCLUSIONS: The regression formula (where the status of all four third molars can be determined) predicts the age among females and males with a mean absolute difference of 1.452 years and 1.163 years, respectively. Mineralization status was found to be superior to eruption status for age estimation.
