- Decades Later: Recurrent Gastrointestinal Sequelae in a Patient With Remote Metastatic Osteosarcoma to the Stomach and Colon. [Case Reports]
- Osteosarcoma is a primary malignant bone tumor with a well-established tendency for pulmonary metastasis; however, gastrointestinal (GI) involvement is exceedingly rare. Intra-abdominal metastases may occur years to decades after the initial diagnosis. Hematogenous spread, following pulmonary metastasis, is the presumed mechanism. Due to delayed presentation and atypical manifestations, recogniti…

- Submandibular fossa depth in relation to the mandibular canal and alveolar crest: a retrospective cross-sectional CBCT study analyzing side-specific and sex-based variations. [Journal Article]
- An accurate preoperative evaluation of mandibular anatomy is essential before placing dental implants safely in the posterior region, where the submandibular fossa and proximity to the inferior alveolar nerve present serious risks. A precise preoperative evaluation of the mandibular anatomy is essential. This retrospective cross-sectional study evaluated the depth of SF using cone beam computed t…

- Nutcracker syndrome with pelvic congestion syndrome: A case report. [Case Reports]
- Nutcracker syndrome is a rare clinical entity characterized by external compression of left renal vein (LRV) disturbing the outflow of blood into inferior venacava. We present a case of a 35-year-old female who presented to gynecology outpatient department (OPD) with abdominal pain of right lower quadrant initially which later shifted to left flank associated with dysmenorrhea. Laboratory investi…

- Appendicitis on the Wrong Side: A Case of Left-Sided Acute Appendicitis With Intestinal Nonrotation. [Case Reports]
- Left-sided acute appendicitis (LSAA) is a rare clinical entity, most commonly associated with midgut malrotation (MM) or situs viscerum inversus (SVI). Its atypical presentation poses a significant diagnostic challenge for emergency physicians, radiologists, and surgeons. We report the case of a 53-year-old man who presented with a two-day history of left-sided abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting…

- Asymmetric Bilateral Axenfeld-Rieger Anomaly Misdiagnosed as Unilateral Iridocorneal Endothelial Syndrome. [Case Reports]
- Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly is a rare, congenital disorder characterized by neural crest-derived defects of the ocular anterior segment, traditionally presenting with high bilateral symmetry. This case report highlights a significant diagnostic pitfall involving a profoundly asymmetric presentation of bilateral Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly in a systemically healthy 23-year-old male student, complicated by…

- Primary acinic cell carcinoma of the breast: insights from a nine-case series and comprehensive literature review. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: AcCC of the breast is a rare, triple-negative malignancy that typically presents as a BI-RADS 4 lesion in the upper outer quadrant. Its diagnosis is based on characteristic morphological features-primarily microglands and acinar patterns, along with less common cystic, follicular, clear cell, and solid architectures. This is supported by a distinctive immunohistochemical profile, which consistently includes mutant-type expression of p53 protein. A comprehensive understanding of the clinicopathological and immunophenotypic spectrum of AcCC is crucial for accurate diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Enhanced recognition of this entity, particularly its rare morphological variants, will help reduce diagnostic errors and guide more precise clinical management, ultimately improving prognostic assessment for affected patients.

- Continent Cutaneous Urinary Diversion With Augmentation Cystoplasty and Bladder Neck Closure for a Single-System Ectopic Ureter in an Adolescent Girl: A Report of a Rare Case. [Case Reports]
- A single-system ectopic ureter draining a solitary functioning kidney is a rare cause of lifelong continuous urinary incontinence in girls and may be accompanied by a hypoplastic, poorly compliant bladder and a deficient bladder neck. This anatomy renders urethral continence unattainable and places the only kidney at risk, demanding complex lower urinary tract reconstruction. A 16-year-old girl p…

- Computer-aided indirect bonding versus traditional direct bonding of orthodontic brackets: bonding accuracy and bonding failures. A split mouth randomized controlled trial. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CONCLUSIONS: There were no statistically significant differences in bonding accuracy and in bracket survival between computer-aided indirect and direct bonding methods.

- CT-based morphometric analysis of the zygomatic region: infraorbital foramen localization, bone thickness, and sutural relationships. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Surface-based IOF mapping and standardized sutural measurements provided a reproducible framework integrating IOF localization, regional bone architecture, the CP, and the lateral wall of the MS. These reference values may provide an anatomical reference for CT-based preoperative assessment and planning in zygomatic implant placement, midfacial fracture fixation, and osteotomy procedures.

- Ovarian Teratoma in a Nonverbal Adult With Rett Syndrome. [Case Reports]
- Mature cystic ovarian teratomas, also called dermoid cysts, are the most common ovarian neoplasms in women, especially those of reproductive age. While the general clinical approach and treatment of teratomas do not differ in a patient with a concomitant diagnosis of Rett syndrome, the presentation, surgical preparation, and clinical course can be influenced by the pathophysiology of the conditio…

- Intestinal nonrotation with left-sided appendiceal microperforation mimicking colonic perforation: CT diagnostic pitfall and successful conservative treatment. [Case Reports]
- Intestinal nonrotation is an uncommon subtype of intestinal malrotation that may place the cecum and appendix in the left lower quadrant, creating a diagnostic pitfall in patients with left-sided abdominal pain. A 49-year-old man presented with a 3-day history of progressive left lower quadrant pain, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Contrast-enhanced CT demonstrated predominantly right-sided small …

- Diagnosis of Extensive DCIS with Progressive Microcalcifications over a Period of 11 Years. [Journal Article]Diagnostics (Basel). 2026 Sep 02; 16(17).D
- A 53-year-old woman presented complaining of enlargement of her right breast; 12 years earlier she was treated elsewhere for an invasive ductal carcinoma of the right breast with breast-conserving surgery, adjuvant chemotherapy, anti-HER2 therapy, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy. One year postoperatively, a group of microcalcifications was seen in the ipsilateral breast on mammography. In the …

- Musculoskeletal Hydatid Cyst around Pelvis: A Case Report and Review of Literature. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Bone hydatidosis is considered a rare condition, and surgical excision remains the cornerstone of treatment, although recurrence is frequent, particularly in anatomically challenging locations. Owing to the infiltrative behavior of the infection, complete surgical eradication is often difficult, and reported recurrence rates are on the higher side. To achieve a good functional outcome postoperatively, a good rehabilitation program and gait training are often required for achieving satisfactory functional outcome.

- An anatomical imposter in the left upper quadrant: Incidental beaver tail liver on chest computed tomography. [Case Reports]
- Beaver tail liver, also known as a sliver of liver, is a rare anatomic variant in which the left hepatic lobe extends laterally to the splenic region. Although usually asymptomatic, its imaging appearance may simulate perisplenic pathology and result in diagnostic confusion. A 55-year-old man presented to the infectious disease clinic with cough and dyspnea. Because of persistent respiratory symp…
