- Elevated atherogenic index of plasma in multiple sclerosis: association with metabolic profile in a cross-sectional study. [Journal Article]BMC Neurol. 2026 Aug 06; 26(1).BN
- CONCLUSIONS: Elevated AIP and an atherogenic lipid profile in patients with MS support the presence of systemic metabolic and inflammatory components in the disease. The independent association between AIP and MS supports the presence of systemic metabolic and inflammatory components in the disease. However, the lack of association between AIP and EDSS suggests that AIP may reflect systemic inflammation and metabolic burden rather than clinical disability. The limited impact of DMTs on lipid profiles indicates that the observed metabolic alterations may be primarily disease-related. Further large-scale prospective studies are warranted to clarify the clinical utility of AIP in MS.

- Predicting the clinical course of advanced systemic mastocytosis on treatment with avapritinib or midostaurin. [Journal Article]Leukemia. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]L
- Advanced systemic mastocytosis (AdvSM) is driven by KIT D816V in approximately 95% of cases. Accurate assessment and prediction of clinical course and disease outcome before and during treatment with the KIT inhibitors midostaurin and avapritinib may facilitate optimization of treatment strategies. We retrospectively evaluated clinical, morphologic, laboratory, and genetic predictors of outcome i…

- Comprehensive evaluation of metabolite imputation methods and the effect of imputation accuracy on the performance of metabolite-trait association using large-scale metabolite datasets in cattle. [Journal Article]J Dairy Sci. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]JD
- As metabolomics data are typically acquired across multiple batches over months or even years, the integrated metabolite data sets often face complex missing-value challenges arising from fluctuations in instrument performance, variation in detection windows, and heterogeneity among analytical platforms. Accurate imputation of missing values is therefore a crucial strategy to addressing these cha…

- Comparison of linseed oil and its ethyl esters as fat supplements in milk replacer: Impacts on physical properties, nutrient digestibility, health, and oxidative status of dairy calves. [Journal Article]J Dairy Sci. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]JD
- The study aimed to examine the physical properties of milk replacer (MR) supplemented with linseed oil or ethyl esters of polyunsaturated fatty acids of linseed oil, and the subsequent impacts on nutrient and fatty acid (FA) digestibility, growth performance, health status, and some immune response and oxidative stress parameters in pre-weaned dairy calves. Eighteen Holstein calves were assigned …

- Apical periodontitis (AP) is characterized by persistent inflammation and progressive periapical bone resorption, processes increasingly associated with NLRP3 inflammasome activation and cGAS-STING-related inflammatory signaling. However, pharmacological approaches targeting these inflammatory pathways and their upstream regulatory mechanisms remain limited. Here, we investigated whether liquirit…

- Polylactic acid (PLA) is currently one of the most widely used bio-based plastics, posing exposure risks to humans through various environmental pathways. Therefore, this study evaluated the effects of PLA nanoparticles (NPs) on the testes and the potential mechanisms involved. C57BL/6 J mice were administered PLA NPs (0.1, 1, and 10 mg/kg/day) for 4 weeks. Additionally, supplementary validation …

- Heat-inactivated probiotic-fermented tamarind pulp alleviates constipation by modulating gut tryptophan catabolism and the AhR NLRP3 axis. [Journal Article]J Adv Res. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]JA
- CONCLUSIONS: FTP effectively alleviated constipation by improving intestinal function, reducing inflammation, and remodeling the gut microbiota-metabolite axis. Mechanistically, fermentation-driven tryptophan catabolism and quercetin biotransformation converge on the AhR-NLRP3 axis. These findings highlight FTP as a superior nutritional strategy over UFTP.
