Common Use:
To assist in diagnosis and evaluation of the treatment modalities used for pancreatitis.

Specimen:
Serum (1 mL) collected in a red- or tiger-top tube. Plasma (1 mL) collected in a green-top (heparin) tube is also acceptable.

4–9 yr16–91 units/L
10–18 yr19–76 units/L
Adult–older adult30–110 units/L
Values may be slightly elevated in older adults due to the effects of medications and the presence of multiple chronic or acute diseases with or without muted symptoms.
