  1. I want to switch devices from Palm, Windows Mobile, iPhone, or BlackBerry. How can I accomplish this?

    Please note the software is licensed for use on only one device simultaneously. First, remove the program from your old device. Now visit the Unbound Medicine support website below.

    Once on the site, enter your serial number and email address and press download.

    On the next screen press the "Android" button. This page will display the proper instructions on how to obtain the software for your Android phone.

    Note: In order to switch platforms it will require an active subscription. Accounts that have expired will not be able to transfer the software to their new device until the account is renewed.

  4. Where on my BlackBerry can I find the Unbound Medicine software icon?

    For the Bold, Storm, and Curve 8900 Series:

    To locate your Unbound Medicine icon, press the BlackBerry Menu button and locate the Download folder. Open the Download Folder and your Unbound Medicine icon will be located in this folder.



    For Curve 8300 Series, World Edition 8800 Series, and Pearl 8100 Series:

    To locate your Unbound Medicine icon, press the BlackBerry Menu button and your Unbound Medicine icon will be located on your main Application screen.

  5. On which BlackBerry devices will your products run?

    Our software will support any BlackBerry device that supports the use of a Storage Card. Storage cards are required to complete the installs to the device. At this time we support the BlackBerry Pearl (8100 series), BlackBerry Curve (8300 series), BlackBerry Bold, the BlackBerry 8830 series, and the BlackBerry Storm.

  6. How do I create a user name and password for my account?


    You have not yet created a user name and password for this product. To do so, please visit our registration website below and enter your serial number. Please make sure to choose a log-in name that you are not using for any of our other products.

  7. How do I install to my BlackBerry?

    The BlackBerry install is performed over the air. Please follow the steps below to download the application.

    Perform these steps on your PC:

    1. Open your web browser and navigate to our support page: http://www.unboundmedicine.com/support
    2. Enter your serial number and e-mail address in the "Download Software" section and click "Download"
    3. Select "BlackBerry" under the device type options and write down the website provided

    Perform these steps on your BlackBerry:

    1. Open your web browser and navigate to the web page provided by the support page
    2. Select your appropriate type of BlackBerry from the choices and download the file
    3. Open the program on the device and enter your serial number

  8. I receive the error message: problem java.io.inturruptedIO exception: local connection timed out. How do I get around this time out issue?

    This typically will occur during the install of large files to the BlackBerry. If you receive this message please go to the home page of the program and press the BlackBerry menu button then select sync server. Repeat this step up to three times to complete the install. When the BlackBerry says "All content up to date" your install has completed.

  9. When trying to scroll down to enable multitap, I receive the following error: Uncaught exception: net.rim.device.api.system .ContolledAccess Exception. What does this mean?

    To fix the problem, go to your BlackBerry home screen and select Options > Advanced Options > Applications, then scroll down to select (highlight) the Unbound Medicine application. Hit the menu button and select Edit Permissions. Scroll down to Interactions and highlight the setting. Click your trackball and select Allow. Hit the menu button and select Save.

  10. I have added a memory / media card to my device, but I am still unable to install the program. What should I do?

    Answer taken from the BlackBerry Support Website

    Format the media card. To format the media card, complete the following steps:

    Warning: This process will delete all data on the media card.

    1. From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options > Media Card or Options > Advanced Options > Media Card. (Choose the option that appears on the BlackBerry smartphone).
    2. Display the menu and click Format Card.
      Note: If Format Card option does not appear on the menu, skip step 3 and perform the procedure that follows.
    3. A warning message will appear asking if you are certain you would like to format the card. Click Yes to continue.

    If the Format Card option does not appear on the menu, complete the following steps:

    1. On the Media Card screen, set the Mass Storage Mode Support field to Off.
    2. Display the menu and click Save. The Media Card screen closes automatically.
    3. Click Media Card to reopen the Media Card screen.
    4. To format the media card, display the menu and click Format Card.
    5. A warning message will appear asking if you are certain you would like to format the card. Click Yes to continue.
    If formatting the media card on the device does not correct the problem, you will need to format the card on your PC. To do so:

    1. Insert your storage card into your PC card reader.
    2. On the PC, open My Computer and right click on the storage card.
    3. Select Format Card. Once complete you will then be able to install the software.

  11. Can I install the software to more than one device?

    Please note the software is licensed for use on only one device at a time. Installing the software to multiple devices can make the serial number inactive.

  12. I have lost my serial number. Can you resend it?

    Yes. Please visit our main support website, and enter your e-mail address in the "Request Your Serial Number" section. All serial numbers associated with that e-mail address will be sent to you.

    If your email is not on file, please contact Unbound Medicine Support and provide as much information as you possibly can so a support representative can help identify your account, including:

    • First Name and Last Name
    • Date of purchase
    • Product purchased
    • Sales confirmation email
    • Email Address and Alternate Email address (if you use more than one)
    • Physical Address

  13. I have recently changed devices and am now using a device with a different mobile operating system. Can I transfer the Unbound Medicine software to my new device?

    Yes, you can switch platforms without incurring any additional fees. To do so, simply visit the “Download” section of the Unbound Medicine support website to download software for your new device. You must enter your serial number and email address to download the software for your new device.

    Please Note: Your Unbound Medicine software is licensed for one device. Please delete the program from your old device before installing the software to your new device.

  14. How do I uninstall the program?

    To uninstall our software from your BlackBerry device, do the following:

    1. Connect the device to your computer and open My Computer
    2. Locate the files for your BlackBerry, and delete the Unbound Medicine folder
    3. Open the options menu on your BlackBerry
    4. Select Advanced options
    5. Select Applications
    6. Locate the program, press the BlackBerry button, then select delete


  15. Can I view the program on my PC?

    Any software that includes a "Web/Wireless" component includes a version of the content that is viewable through your computer’s web browser. Please note that access to these web versions are based on a yearly subscription and need to be renewed to have access after the first year.

  16. How and when do I get updates? (Drug Guide Specific)


    Each component of Davis’s Drug Guide gets updated on a quarterly basis, however there is no set date for updates. Every time you sync your PDA, the program checks for updates. If updates are available, you will see new records being downloaded to your PDA.

  17. Where can I download the latest version of my Unbound Medicine software?

    To obtain the latest version of the Unbound Medicine software, please visit our main support site.

    Once on the site, visit the “Download Software” section, enter your serial number and e-mail address, then press the download button. If your serial number and email address are correct, a web address will be displayed on the screen. Open your BlackBerry web browser and enter the web address displayed on the screen to obtain the latest version of your software.

  18. How do I download my renewal?

    When renewing your software you will not need a new serial number nor do you need to install a new download, instead you will continue to receive updates to your current install for another year. If you have deleted the program already and do need to download it again, please visit our support website below.

    Once on the site, locate the "Download software" section. Enter your serial number and email address, then click the "Download" button. Select the software version and begin the download process. Follow the onscreen installation instructions and enter your serial number when prompted.




  19. I purchased a CD but can't find the serial number. What do I do?

    We do not sell CD’s, and while some of our distributors do, we do not have any record of the serial number until it is registered by the customer. I suggest contacting the company from whom you purchased the CD to inquire about your serial number.

  20. After one year is complete, is there a renewal fee, or would I have to re-purchase the product entirely?


    We sell 1 year subscriptions with our products that feature Auto Updates. When the year is finished, you can choose to renew your subscription. If you choose to renew, you will only need to purchase the renewal and not the entire product. If you choose not to renew, the product will remain on your PDA, but you will stop receiving content updates. If you purchase one of our products, we will contact you when your subscription is in need of renewal with specific instructions on how to renew.

  21. My question does not appear in the FAQ. Where should I go for help?
