The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the Executive departments of the Federal Government.

    System Requirements
 

You must meet the following system requirements to use the product.

  • Palm OS® 3.5 or later 
  • 8.1 MB of available memory*
  • Memory Cards Supported (SD Cards and Memory Sticks)
  • Palm HotSync Manager (or equivalent), version 4.1 or later
  • Windows PC or Mac OS X with Internet Connection

*TIP: How to check your handheld's memory.
To check that you have adequate space available:

  1. From the handheld's home screen, Tap the Menu button in the Graffiti area.
  2. From the "App" menu, select "Info". Your memory usage will appear at the top of  the screen. If you do not have enough memory to install the product, consider deleting some unused applications. For more information, read "Not enough memory on your Handheld" in Support:Common Problems.
    Installation Steps
 


Install
The product installer places the Unbound Medicine reader and data in your Palm install directory and the Unbound Medicine Conduit on your PC.

Synchronize
Installs the Unbound Medicine reader and data on your handheld.

Proxy Server Setup (optional)
The installer will attempt to auto-detect any proxy server or firewall settings.  However, if you have difficulty activating the product it is likely that your Proxy Server Settings need to adjusted manually. For more info on Proxy Server setup see "Proxy Server Configuration" below.

Synchronize Again
Activates the product when your serial number is entered.

    Handheld : Cross Linking
 

Unbound Medicine's cross-linking feature enables you to access desired information across your Unbound content. Whether you're seeking related information within a particular resource or across your Unbound resources -- the power of cross-linking makes it easy.

When related content is available, the cross-linking icon will appear . Tap the icon and a list of available cross-links will pop-up. Next, simply choose your desired link by tapping on it.

Again, in order to save you time and effort, the cross-link icon will appear only when related content is available.

    Content : Select a Resource
  You can switch between resource channels by tapping the title of the desired resource.


    Content : Select an Index
  You can switch between indexes by tapping the drop-down list menu below and selecting an index.


    Content : Select an Entry
  To find an entry quickly, enter its name on the "Jump to" line. To select an entry, tap on its title. You can scroll through the list of entries by using the Previous/Next arrows at the bottom of the display.

To make for easier reading, each topic is divided into separate pages. To see the list of pages, tap the drop-down menu (as shown below). In addition, it you can scroll through the pages using the "Next/Previous Page" arrows.

    Support : Common Problems / Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
   
 
  1. Where can I find my Serial Number?
    Your Serial Number will be emailed as part of your product purchase.  If you did not receive your serial number, you can request it be resent by going to the Unbound Medicine Support WebsiteBe sure to check your Junk Mail folder in case our email is being filtered as Junk Mail by your email client.

  2. I can't install the application on my PC.
    With some operating systems (notably Windows NT, 2000, and XP Pro) you must have Administrator access to install some programs. You may need to contact your internal support department to assist with the install if you do not have administrative rights on your PC.

  3. I get an error when I try to HotSync for the first time.
    There are a few possible causes of errors during HotSync:

    a) Not enough memory on your Handheld
    The memory requirements for this product are found in the system requirements section.
    To check that you have adequate space available:

    1. From the handheld's home screen, Tap the Menu button in the Graffiti area.
    2. From the "App" menu, select "Info". Your memory usage will appear at the top of the screen. If you do not have enough memory, consider deleting some unused applications.

    To free additional space on your handheld:
    1. From the handheld's home screen, Tap the Menu button in the Graffiti area.
    2. From the "App" menu, select "Delete". A List of the applications installed to your handheld and their memory usage will be displayed. Tap on the application you wish to delete. You will be asked to confirm the operation. Continue to do this until the "Free Memory" displayed at the top of the screen exceeds the memory requirement.

    b) Proxy Server configuration
    If you are having trouble activating the product, it may be because your institution or Internet service provider uses a proxy server or firewall.  If this is the case, the program will attempt to configure these settings for you.  If the auto-setup is not successful, you must enter Proxy Settings manually. You may need to contact your IT department or Internet Service Provider to obtain the correct proxy settings. To enter or verify your proxy server information:
    1. Right-click on the HotSync icon in your Window's System Tray.
    2. Select "Custom..."
    3. Select "Unbound" from the Conduit list, and then click "Change".
    4. Check the "Use Proxy Server" button and fill in the appropriate information.
       
  4. I ran the Installer and performed a HotSync, but I can't find the application on my handheld.
    It's possible that some or all of the application did not get installed. You can check your HotSync log to see if any specific errors are displayed:
      1. Right-click on the HotSync icon in your Windows System Tray .
      2. Select "View Log..."
                Possible error messages can include:
                    - Out of memory (see #3a: Not enough memory on your Handheld)
                    - Connection to the handheld was lost.  Please check that your
                       handheld is properly connected, and HotSync again.

  5. I had to perform a Hard Reset on my handheld. How do I reinstall the application?
    A Hard Reset of a Palm OS device wipes out all the applications and data in the device's flash ROM. To reinstall the application, re-run the product Installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

  6. I purchased a new handheld and want to install the application on it.
    Simply re-run the Installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

  7. Can I install the application on a memory card?
    Yes, this product can be installed on Secure Digital (SD) cards and Sony Memory Sticks. Other memory cards are not supported. To install on a supported memory card, simply click "Yes" when asked during installation if you wish to place the application on a memory card.

  8. Why am I asked for my serial number every time I HotSync my Palm device?
    This normally occurs when your HotSync settings are incorrect.  To correct this problem:
    • Right-click on the HotSync Manager icon in your system tray (bottom right-hand corner of your screen).
    • Click on "Custom"
    • Select “System” from the "Conduit" list.
    • Click on the "Change" button.
    • Select " Handheld Overwrites Desktop"
    • Click "OK"
    • HotSync your Palm and enter your serial number when prompted
