| Installing Ovid@Hand |
| To use Ovid@Hand, log in to Ovid's Online System and Click the My Ovid@Hand link. If you have not yet installed Ovid@Hand, click the Register button to begin the installation process. | |

| Submit MEDLINE Searches |
| Click the "Q->A" icon, located on the top of each
screen, to bring up search forms. Ovid@Hand enables you to enter
two different types of searches, Server Searches or Local Searches. The Server Search form allows you to enter a query that is queued on the handheld and sent to your Ovid@Hand Web Library when you HotSync. The Local Search form describes how to perform a search of content on the handheld. |

| Server Search : Classic "MEDLINE" Query | |
| In this form you can enter any combination of Keywords, Author names, and Journal names. Annotations can also be entered in the My Notes field. Tap "Submit" when the search is complete and the query will be stored on your device. On the next HotSync your query will appear in your Ovid@Hand Web Library, where you can run it against Ovid MEDLINE. | |

| The Journals@Ovid channel allows you to keep abreast of the current medical literature. This channel combines table of contents and abstracts delivered to your handheld with links to full text and other related resources in the Ovid System. | |
| Journals@Ovid : Selecting a Journal | |
| Tap "Journals@Ovid from the Ovid@Hand Home screen and your journal list will be shown. Journals with a newly published issue are preceded by an asterisk. Tap on the Journal you wish to browse. | |

| Journals@Ovid : Viewing Table of Contents | |
| This screen shows the Table of Contents (TOC) for the desired journal. The Journal name and publication date appears at the top of the display; you may tap on it to jump to another journal. The items in the TOC are preceded by an item number. Tap on the title of a TOC Item to open it. Items with available abstracts are followed by a document icon. | |

| This screen shows the full record or citation. If the article title is long, it will appear in truncated form; however, simply tap on the title to view it in its entirety. Use the scroll bar on the right to scroll through the record or simply tap on the top or bottom of the content area to scroll the display up/down a page. You can quickly jump to the next item in the TOC by clicking the "Next/Previous" arrows at the bottom of the display. | |

| Journals@Ovid : Saving an Article | |
| You can save an item to your Web Library and then perform a number of actions online such as reading the citation/abstract online, viewing full text from the publisher, or searching for related articles through Ovid MEDLINE. To save an item, simply click "Save to Web" at the bottom of the display. | |

| A to Z Drug Facts |
| A to Z Drug Facts, by Facts and Comparisons, provides information on thousands of medications. Each medication may have the following fields of information: Generic Name, Pronunciation, Brand Name, Therapeutic Class, Indications, Contraindications, Dosing, Interactions, Adverse Reactions, Precautions, Action, Lab Test Interferences, Administration and Storage, Assessment and Interventions, Overdosage and Patient and Family Educations. | |
| A to Z : Selecting an Index | |
| A to Z Drug Facts includes two indexes: Alphabetical and Therapeutic. The Alphabetical index lists all brand and generic names. The Therapeutic index lists drug classes and, if you click on a class, the generics in each class. | |

| To quickly find an entry, enter its name in "Jump to". To select an entry, tap on its title. You can scroll through the list of entries by using "Up/Down" arrows at the bottom of the display. | |

| Each monograph is separated into pages to make it easier to navigate. You can see the list of fields by tapping the "Fields Drop-Down Menu" (as shown below). In addition, you can scroll through the fields using "Next/Previous Field" arrows. If you wish to read the monograph in its natural order, simply tap the lower half of the content area every time you wish to go to the next page. | |

| Drug Interaction Facts |
| Drug Interaction Facts, by Facts and Comparisons, allows a user to select any number of medications and quickly check for 1-1 interactions. Each interaction pair has a monograph with the following fields: level, onset, severity, documentation, interacting drugs, effects, mechanism, management, and discussion. | |
| Drug Interaction Facts : Selecting medications | |
| Drug Interaction Facts initial screen is divided into two regions. The bottom region lists the medications you can select. By tapping on a medication, it is selected and placed in the top region. Click the / to check for interactions. Click X to clear the list of selected medications. | |

| Drug Interaction Facts : Results Page | |
| The results page sorts by severity (1-5, with 1 being the most severe) the drug interaction pairs. Tap on any interaction pair to review the monograph. Tap the back arrow to return to the selection page and add/remove drugs. | |

| The MedWeaver Disease Profiles channel provides information on more than 700 diseases. Each disease profile may contain the following fields: Other Names, Etiology, Associated Terms and Conditions, Symptoms, Physical Findings, and Diagnostically Helpful. | |
