| To use Ovid@Hand, log in to Ovid's Online System and Click the My Ovid@Hand link. If you have not yet installed Ovid@Hand, click the Register button to begin the installation process. | |

Welcome - Review a brief introduction to Ovid@Hand, including the
End User License Agreement. Register - Fill out registration information to gain access to Ovid@Hand. Confirm E-Mail - A valid email address is required to send you a Ovid@Hand serial number. Download - Download the application (approximately 4 minutes @ 28.8k, 2 minutes @ 56k/ 1 minutes with ISDN/DSL). Access E-Mail - Get your serial number for Ovid@Hand. If you cannot find the e-mail containing your serial number, see: "Haven't Received Serial Number" in the section SUPPORT: Common Install Problems. Install - Install Ovid@Hand conduit to your PC and the Ovid@Hand reader on your handheld. Enter your serial number when requested. |

| In this form you can enter any combination of Keywords, Author names, and Journal names. Annotations can also be entered in the My Notes field. Tap "Submit" when the search is complete and the query will be stored on your device. On the next Sync, your query will appear in your Ovid@Hand Web Library, where you can run it against Ovid MEDLINE. | |

| The Journals@Ovid channel allows you to keep abreast of the current medical literature. This channel combines tables of content and abstracts delivered to your handheld with links to full text and other related resources in the Ovid System. | |

| Tap "Journals@Ovid" from the Ovid@Hand Home screen and your journal list will be shown. Journals with a newly published issue are preceded by an asterisk. Tap on the Journal you wish to browse. | |

| This screen shows the Table of Contents (TOC) for the desired journal. The Journal name and publication date appear at the top of the display; you may tap on it to jump to another journal. The items in the TOC are preceded by an item number. Tap the "citation" or "abstract" hyperlink to view the full content. | |

| This screen shows the full record or citation. If the article title is long, it will appear in truncated form. Simply tap on the text to see the full title. Use the scroll bar on the right to scroll through the record. You can quickly jump to the next item in the TOC by clicking the "Next/Previous" arrows at the bottom of the display. | |

| Journals@Ovid : Saving an Article | |
| You can save an item to your Web Library and then perform a number of actions online such as reading the citation/abstract online, viewing full text from the publisher, or searching for related articles through Ovid MEDLINE. To save an item, simply click "More Online" at the bottom of the display. | |

| A to Z Drug Facts |
|
A to Z Drug Facts, by Facts and Comparisons, provides information on thousands of medications. Each medication may have the following fields of information: Generic Name, Pronunciation, Brand Name, Therapeutic Class, Indications, Contraindications, Dosing, Interactions, Adverse Reactions, Precautions, Action, Lab Test Interferences, Administration and Storage, Assessment and Interventions, Overdosage and Patient and Family Educations. |

| A to Z : Selecting an Index | |
| A to Z Drug Facts includes two indexes: Alphabetical and Therapeutic. The Alphabetical index lists all brand and generic names. The Therapeutic index lists drug classes and, if you click on a class, the generics in each class. | |

| To quickly find an entry, enter its name in "Jump to". To select an entry, tap on its title. You can scroll through the list of entries by using the scroll bar. | |

| Drug Interaction Facts |
|
Drug Interaction Facts, by Facts and Comparisons, allows a user to select any number of medications and quickly check for 1-1 interactions. Each interaction pair has a monograph with the following fields: level, onset, severity, documentation, interacting drugs, effects, mechanism, management, and discussion. |

| Drug Interaction Facts : Selecting Medications | |
The initial screen of Drug Interaction Facts
is divided into two regions. The bottom region lists the medications
you can select. By tapping on a medication, it is selected and placed in
the top region. Click the
icon to check for interactions. Click the
icon to clear the list of selected medications. |

| The results page sorts the drug interaction pairs by severity (1-5, with 1 being the most severe). Tap on any interaction pair to review the monograph. Tap the back arrow to return to the selection page. | |

| The MedWeaver Disease Profiles channel provides information on more than 700 diseases. Each disease profile may contain the following fields: Other Names, Etiology, Associated Terms and Conditions, Symptoms, Physical Findings, and Diagnostically Helpful. | |

To check that you have adequate space available: From the handheld's Start Menu, choose Settings, then System, then Memory. Check that you have the required "Storage" memory. Some devices will permit you to move the memory slider to increase available Storage memory.To free additional space on your handheld:
