Support : Common Problems / Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Where can I find my Serial Number?
Your Serial Number will be emailed as part of your product purchase.  If you did not receive your serial number, you can request it be resent by going to the Unbound Medicine Support WebsiteBe sure to check your Junk Mail folder in case our email is being filtered as Junk Mail by your email client.

  2. Is the application compatible with Windows Vista?
Yes we are compatible. We have tested the released version and found that our Palm software installed successfully with the new Vista OS. The requirements for the Palm OS have not changed. You will still use the HotSync Manager to synchronize with the computer.

There were changes to the Pocket PC platform. With this latest Windows OS, Pocket PC devices will no longer sync using the Active Sync program. Instead they use a program called Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). Pocket PC 2002 and earlier is not supported on Windows Vista. If you need to download the Mobile Device Center please visit the Microsoft website.

  3. I get an error when I try to HotSync for the first time.
There are a few possible causes of errors during HotSync:

You will be asked to confirm the operation. Continue to do this until the "Free Memory" displayed at the top of the screen exceeds the memory requirement.

    b) Proxy Server configuration
If you are having trouble activating the product, it may be because your institution or Internet service provider uses a proxy server or firewall.  If this is the case, the program will attempt to configure these settings for you.  If the auto-setup is not successful, you must enter Proxy Settings manually. You may need to contact your IT department or Internet Service Provider to obtain the correct proxy settings. To enter or verify your proxy server information:
