Abstract
Does your group base its decision to hire a new physician on a formal assessment process or do you just wing it? This first in a series of articles on physician recruitment presents the results of a survey on the recruiting practices of MGMA member groups. The message is clear--timing is critical to success. Recruitment must be an integral part of both the budgeting process and the long-range plan.
