Abstract
OBJECTIVE
To investigate the chemical constituents of Tetrastigma hemsleyanum native to China.
METHOD
Compounds were separated by column chronatography with silica gel and elucidated by chemical evidence and spectral analysis.
RESULT
Four compounds were isolated from the petroleum ether extract. Their structures were identifies as taraxerone, taraxerol,beta-sitosterol and ergosterol.
CONCLUSION
These compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.
