Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To study the lipid chemical constituents of Salvia sochifolia growing in Yunnan province.

METHOD

Chromatographic techniques were used to isolate the compounds and the structures were identified by spectral analysis.

RESULT

Five compounds were isolated from the plant and identified as 2 alpha, 3 alpha-dihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid, 2 alpha, 3 alpha, 24-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid, ursolic acid, daucosterol and beta-sitosterol.

CONCLUSION

These compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.
